@saladinskull People who suggest playing out of release order have the benefit of having the full picture and can afford to mix things up to engage with the story in new or different ways (like mods imho). Suggesting newcomers do that is kind of pretentious in an "I know better" kind of way.

Dudes been quoted enough so I'm not going to but it is crazy how many people seem to not understand or disregard how each MGS entry always expands upon something established in each previous entry. The "cycle" of the series really doesn't work if you play them out of order.

@MGSMGN @L0rdEmmerich How long an online MGS lasts is entirely down to Konami. If it launches with sparse advertising and comms, a month after launch, with no cross play and meager content, it's going to flop regardless if it's an MGO or a Fox Hunt.

This is why I really question whether there’s an audience that would actually come back and actively play MGO. People keep asking Konami to bring it back, but if they did, how long would it actually last? Would it outlive FoxHunt? Probably. But for how long? At some point, people need to be honest about this. Outside of nostalgia, how much real, sustained support would it actually get from players? I myself have my doubts.

To expand on this, It’s an unpopular opinion but I don’t think it having being MGO instead would have done really better. A little more maybe but not by much With how things are, only an online game with as much focus as a single player game could stand. And even this could fail

Despite Delta’s good sales, it likely has the least performing MG online game ever And it likely was against they had planned Development for it probably already is stopped as the staff are focusing on future games and 2027 At best it might prove useful to them on what not to do
