When could “same day” actually happen?
Even in end-of-life cases, it’s not simply walk-in, same-day. Several things must already be in place:
•The person must already meet all eligibility criteria (serious, irreversible illness, intolerable suffering, etc.)
•Two independent medical professionals must confirm eligibility
•The patient must give informed consent, including right before the procedure
In practice, “same day” usually only happens when:
•The person is very near death, or
•There’s a risk they will lose capacity imminently (e.g., rapid decline)

You may see reports of “same-day MAID,” but those cases typically involve
•Prior assessments already completed, or
•Urgent end-of-life situations where safeguards are compressed
It’s not a standard or easily accessible option.
