Spotify is trying something concert fans have been begging for for years: keeping tickets out of scammers’ hands and getting them directly to real fans. The streaming giant just launched a new program called “Reserved,” giving an artist’s most engaged listeners access to two reserved seats at select shows before tickets disappear into resale sites. For fans used to watching prices skyrocket seconds after a tour goes live, Spotify says this is designed to reward the people actually streaming the music, not bots flipping tickets for profit.
