@Adamac39 @StephenTries Aah the memories for your lot, when you were relevant! 😂 🤷😉

@NickHowittUK @StephenTries At least that metaphorical person finished with a Premier League winners medal 🤷♂️😉

@StephenTries Will beg to come back in a year. End up getting parked at Newcastle with a clause that he can sign for us if we call (we won’t). Be injury prone. Go to United. Be vilified. End up at Stoke. Hang on!

@ChrisMedlandF1 Madness that they never changed that rule after Lewis/Merc in 2021. Jenson Button highlighted it at the time.

Ted’s Notebook is still one of the best bits of the weekend #AustinGP

This sport just keeps making a fool of itself. If both cars are off, then it nullifies an advantage #AustinGP

Who knew Coco Pops would get another mention in #F1 this weekend @karunchandhok…if you know, you know #ImolaGP

Ayrton Senna died 30 years ago today. Rewatched "Senna" a few weeks ago, directed by the brilliant @asifkapadia, while writing this (sportingintelligence832.substack.com/p/the-20-best-…). It remains utterly gobsmacking that racing went ahead after the Barrichello crash and then the death of Ratzenberger.

@there_is_no_if Sadly, it feels like it always has been that way and always will be, as long as the spectacle fits. The Jeddah 21 actions proved it with Max - the punishment couldn’t hurt the end result - the viewing figures. Perhaps we have to accept that the sport has changed?
English

@there_is_no_if Granted, you make a good point. What’s the solution then? Especially considering the horrific events of AD21 😞
(And thanks for realising the autocorrect of Crockett 🏏)
English

@Adamac39 Considering that the larger part of the winning formula in the F1 as a sport is the machine, and those machines are pretty much state of the art computers - logic applied towards cricket, rugby or other similar sports isn't particularly applicable in F1.
English

@there_is_no_if Then we’re keeping a human measurement in the sport. That has worked for Crockett, rugby and many other sports. Unless we want to get to a point of over regulation, then perhaps we accept that this is the best thing?
English

@there_is_no_if I see it. We have to trust to technology in place
English

Either painfully misunderstanding the "facts" or desperately doing it for engagement. Weird to try and argue for something that even the FIA official report called 'human error'.

I mean just look at this man. The Marshals were well off track before the start of Lap 57.... The FIA waited a whole FOUR MINUTES to allow lapped cars through and by then it was too late. We gotta change the narrative. Max got robbed of a rightful, legitimate win. Not Lewis.

Lets put some real context around this bullshit.
When the safety car went past these marshals on lap 56 it was 2 corners from the start/finish line…
The photo presented by Jake is a photo of Leclerc who finished 66 seconds (over 1 minute behind 1st)
The track clear and Safety car in announcement was given well into the official lap 57 (lap the safety car is on) therefore the safety car had to do one more full lap (Lap 58) to the chequered flag. Which it didn’t.
There is nothing else to say. Lewis was robbed end of..
