@Griff_ Worlds def feels like a welcome shift back to the vibrant, contrasty, foggy OG style. The new lighting even reminds me of some particularly beautiful pre release screenshots. I think that original feel slipped away somewhat with the jump to NEXT but now… 👍👍👍👍

I saw some discussion in the last few days around whether games are art and what that means.
I have a few takes on this from my own work both on #NoMansSky and from porting #Journey to PS4.
With the latter port I took great care to be as faithful to the original as possible while taking advantage of a much more powerful platform. I was very annoyed when @digitalfoundry positively reviewed the game, but had a negative narrative about whether any changes at all should have been made in that PS4 port, as if a video game is entirely a static piece of art.
As I’ve worked on NMS over the last 9 years I’ve often thought about this consideration, compelled by people’s love of our original aesthetic, but with the desire to move on as we’ve improved our technology and as graphics power has moved on. With Worlds Part II people are looking back again to our original release - I’ve been fiercely protective about changes to things like atmospheric scattering which define the look of NMS, but beyond that, I was wondering how we fared against the original art vision - interested in all your thoughts/perspectives!

@Griff_ DLSS seems to cause photo mode screenshots to be very aliased and low quality when viewing them through Steam. (Windows 11, steam with high quality screenshots enabled).
Have seen several people on Reddit mentioning the same. :)

A long list of fixes with a lot of hard work from our team!
I implemented the new DLSS3 and frame generation support in our engine for the #NoMansSky Worlds Part 1 update, working with NVIDIA over many months - this build includes the first large set of improvements to iron out various system specific issues with scaling and edge cases - There are two issues (that we know of) remaining :
1. Limited or no scaling on some systems, but in 4K only - resolutions below this should always gain more than 70% FPS.
2. A missing option to allow Reflex low latency with boost mode.
Feedback from this experimental release is welcome and requested!
