@Havoc_Six All because our POTUS has a small dick and won’t swallow his pride and ask Zelenskyy and the Ukrainians for interceptor drones.

Trump options: 1. Boots on the ground/island - no stomach for cost, not likely USA win. 2. Bad deal — Trump would have to accept worse terms than pre-War negotiations. Non-starter. 3. Unilateral pull out — unequivocal Iran win. Unthinkable. 4. Nuke Iran. Four options, pick.

You know what’s crazy? We have an entire branch of government that could stop this at any time. I think that’s the hardest part for me. It’s not Trump. We all knew that guy is a whacko. It’s the complete abandonment of the checks and balances that really hits the hardest.

In the future, there will be three major powers in the world: China, USA, EU. Neutral countries will move as much as possible towards the EU as their preferred partner because both China and the USA treat other countries disrespectfully and try to extort them. Europe will be the only great power and market to turn to if you want to have an equal and fair relationship. Canada is already moving towards Europe for this exact reason. India and Japan will also form a closer relationship with Europe. This is what soft power means. MAGA replies in the comment section will prove the point.

This is a civilian coup of the military by lunatic extremists remaking our Armed Forces into an invading horde of amoral, mercernary Blackwater terrorists larping as crusaders. Red fucking alert. Is the entire world bereft of grownups?

NEW HERE: It's not just Gen. Randy George who's on the way out. Defense officials tell me and @TaraCopp that Hegseth's team also is removing: Gen. David Hodne, a former Army Ranger who leads the services Transformation and Training Command Maj. Gen. William Green Jr., head of the Army's chaplain corps Hodne's command was created under George's watch, while Hegseth has sought recently to overhaul how military chaplains operate.

For heavens sake, people in the US. We've all had enough. Surely there's something in your bloody Constitution about getting rid of a president so dangerous and destructive?

The furor in the House GOP at their leadership right now is astounding. Hardline conservatives. Moderates. Leadership allies. Etc. They all came out and said the Senate bill was crap last week and now they are being asked to vote for it and told it is the only option.

@warrensbuffet2 @FredFellaIMO @NafoNorth On this and only this issue - have congressional republicans actually pushed back against trump. If Nato were attacked I believe congress would force trump to help. Even now. He may still try to pull out. But vast majority of US and even GOP believe in NATo and want to stay in

@FredFellaIMO @NafoNorth The nuance is, USA is basically not in NATO until this presidential term is over as I doubt the Trump administration would honour article 5 under any circumstances

Europe, many of you have said you want US out of NATO. I disagree but curious to your thoughts. What reason do you want US out of NATO? I’ll put results after 3 days.

@witter_dude @WarMonitor3 I surely dont want this split.I am pro NATo. But only 2 point out that the divide was not simply & solely of US making. Europe’s & Canada’s intentional decades long refusal 2 spend on our collective defense can not b ignored as a cause of the rift. 4 the rest - blame trump

@witter_dude @WarMonitor3 If point is US could/should have blown up NaTO earlier 2 demonstrate annoyance w/allies lack of spending, fine i guess. Sort of a silly argument 2 blame US 4 not doing that instead of acknowledging European failure 2 properly spend on their own defense is a cause of US resentment

Sure. But it has been the choice of US since end of WWII. Not sure why it’s hard to understand that US is a sovereign nation that can decide for each year its military priorities and maintaining being a superpower. The rest is just some part of the Republican Party and Trump since the 80s choosing a narrative that frames it like the governing parties of US didn’t have a choice to leave Europe and the free riding” narrative. Also because they constantly compare the cost of being a superpower being able to project global power compared to NATO countries investing in a territorial defense.

Sure, but it’s a BS narrative Europe being “free riding” since it’s been US strategic decisions to stay in Europe. You’re trying to frame it as it’s been European decisions to force US protecting Europe. And by the way, I’m Swedish just recently joined NATO and during the Cold War we could bring 20 brigades and for a while the fourth largest Air Force in the World. So you trying to simplify Europe into “free riding” is just a big insult.

Trust me, I am no fan of Noem, Gabbard or Bondi, but I do find it notable that of the cabinet members Trump has fired or is reportedly considering firing, all three are women. How about Hegseth? Kennedy Jr. can't even find a CDC Director to match with his craziness. Patel is a laughing stock, and so on. Why aren't they being fired?

Trump started it by tariffs, threatening to invade Greenland and annex Canada, general Eurobashing, leaving Ukraine to its destiny, causing a global energy crisis, threatening to leave NATO and supporting Orban, the leader that constantly has undermined EU and has caused his country being the poorest and most corrupt country in EU.
