Those who read history books might contend that the worst Chancellor this country ever had was Nicholas Vansittart. I don’t like him at all but I have to concede that the best was Gladstone.

Today’s Budget was a total humiliation for Rachel Reeves. She will go down as the worst Chancellor this country has ever had. Her position is now untenable and she knows it👇

The world needs honest and courageous entrepreneurs and communicators who care for the common good. We sometimes hear the saying: “Business is business!” In reality, it is not so. No one is absorbed by an organization to the point of becoming a mere cog or a simple function. Nor can there be true humanism without a critical sense, without the courage to ask questions: "Where are we going? For whom and for what are we working? How are we making the world a better place?"

@ClarkeMicah Some rock legends were genuinely inspired by and influenced by classical composers. It’s possible to enjoy it all. If you are going to go against rock you are letting ‘modern music’ off the hook. The good ship of rock sailed decades ago and still has its devotees. Go after Suno!

That’s worse than allowing a poorly trained, ill intentioned or inexperienced human to do it. AI should only be allowed to do the things I make it do. Like generate images of ice cream vans.

@Keir_Starmer Build more traffic free infrastructure like paths and greenways. Reopen the railways that got closed in the 60s

Works have started and the path orders have just been confirmed. Happy to see this progress. It should be possible in 2026 to walk/cycle etc from any village or town to local amenities and neighbouring localities away from motor-vehicles. lutontoday.co.uk/news/politics/…

@tattery The commentator on Waverley said it was deemed too risky when they were trying to clear the surrounding seabed. He expressed regret at the idea of the masts being taken down. Got a few good shots of it. I suspect people sailing today to Rochester got even closer.

@AdcoakerC Thanks Tony. t’s all there, as you say, and I see the wreck has so far resisted the recent promise to remove its already much pruned masts. Didn’t somebody recently get paid a million or two to try that?
