Livewire, in 'Scene Magazine' (Aug 11, 1988). When Robert Palmer's Heavy Touring Nova came to town, and a barge passed by right on cue.

RIP Neil Sedaka who co‑wrote “Stupid Cupid” with his longtime songwriting partner Howard Greenfield. The song was first recorded and made famous by Connie Francis in 1958. Robert Palmer released the classic song in 2003, but it had been performed in his live set.

@Stutweeets I'd assume DVD is not a selling point in 2026 like it once was. So it's not a completeist release like 2005 was.

@Addiction_ers Only criticism it’s lacking the dvd that came with the 2005 set,It would have made it more complete with its addition with (nearly) everything in one place.

@Addiction_ers I have a friend who ran into Robert Palmer backstage at the Wiltern Theatre in LA, During that time period. My friend asked what happened with the power station and Robert looked at him and said “I never got paid.” Another possibility in the endless speculation of the split?

@iansblog These sort of videos trawl the Web and print articles from the time, which is fine, but only go superficially deep and then, use a click bait title and argument to capture views - one week before the release of the product. So they get views.

When DD recorded, 'View to a Kill' Palmer worked on Riptide. He involved Edwards, Thompson, Corsaro, AT and Pratt from TPS. Touring was always a contention. When presented with the choice of a drug fuled treck across the USA or promoting his album, Palmer got on with his job.

Palmer signed on with the idea to do one song as part of a three year long standing intention to collaborate at some point. The project evolved, Palmer became the singer, they created an album, and Palmer's boss at Island Records likened it to going AWOL from his own contact...
