A mentor of mine once chose the slower path. While his peers jumped into high-paying jobs with big titles, he took a modest role that allowed him to learn deeply and build real skills. The silence grows heavier, the thoughts louder. And when they finally gather the courage to speak, to let someone in… it doesn’t always go gently. Sometimes, it backfires. Sometimes, the weight they tried to release only becomes heavier. That’s why kindness matters more than we realize. You never truly know what someone is carrying behind their quiet. Be the one who lightens the load, not the one who adds to it. Be a place of relief, not another reason someone chooses to stay silent.
