I booked two seats in economy plus four months in advance. Front of the cabin, row right behind the bulkhead, aisle and window. Paid significantly extra for those specific seats. Done, sorted, moving on. Checked the site the next day just because I'm that person and I cannot help it. We had been moved to the back of economy. Not economy plus. Economy. In the back. The seats I had specifically not booked because I had booked other seats four months ago and paid extra for them. I called immediately. No explanation. No apology. Just put us back in our original seats like nothing had happened. And here's the thing. I knew. I knew this was not over. So I checked the site every single day after that to make sure they didn't try it again. Every day. For four months presumably. And I want to be clear I understand that this is a lot of energy to spend on seat monitoring but United made me this way. They moved my seats overnight with no explanation and no apology and expected me to just not notice or not care and I am not that person. I am the person who checks the next day.
