At least now your ghost town has premium architecture and a sleek UI. 😂 Honestly though, that exact AI acceleration is how I’ve managed to handle the full Next.js/Node.js stack solo for my startup. Closed beta is done, and v2 drops this month. The speed is a superpower if you pick one problem and stick to it.

Before AI, I’d spend a weekend building 1 useless app. Now I can build 67 useless apps over a weekend, each with a logo, a fancy webpage, and 0 user.

Still haven't brought in help yet! I'm running full stack solo—handling the frontend, backend, database, and marketing for my EdTech startup. We ran a successful closed beta and have scaled a waitlist to users for our public v2 launch this month completely solo. When I do finally hire, the very first thing I’m handing off is non-technical administrative operations so I can stay focused purely on product architecture.

@garrytan @ycombinator This is exactly why chasing the "fundable" safe bets fails. The real unfair advantage isn't just a smart engineering stack; it’s an obsessive focus on a problem space you're willing to stick with long after the initial excitement and market noise fade away.

Be your self, not someone you were assigned to be! Bezos won on time horizon, not AWS or 1-Click. If your bets have to work in 3 years, you compete with everyone. Every smart, funded team is chasing the same 3-year problems. Short horizon, crowded field. Stretch to 7 and the field collapses. Investors want returns, employees want vesting, founders want proof. Almost nobody can sit in a bet that doesn't pay for most of a decade. The patience is the moat, and it costs you, that's why it works. But you can't fake a 7-year horizon on a problem you don't actually care about. Pick the users and the problem Moloch assigned you, the safe ones, the fundable ones, and you'll bail the first hard year. Pick the ones that are actually yours and you'll still be there when everyone else has quit. So the real prerequisite isn't discipline. It's knowing yourself well enough to choose a problem and a set of people you care about that you'll serve them for decades.
