@Pirat_Nation Those are conflicting goals. I think even just dropping the price to $40 could get a lot of players to get both, spending $80 total instead of $60. Of course, differentiating the games a bit more would push it over the top.

@mayjoritymarket @ZhugeEX I wouldn't sleep on high capacity disc drives for storage, either. While maybe settling on a 512gb or 1tb NVME, you can use a 10+ TB drive to hold things you're not using and swap game installs back and forth if you plan on playing something for a while.

@RizoaOfficial So you didn't watch the video. He touches on pretty much every deficiency you mention, plus some more. Classic reaction based on a headline and bad assumptions, and you know what they say about when you assume. Ass.

"It's the same price but BIGGER!" Is it the same size? It's built small for a reason. "No." Does it have the same cooling factor? Steam Machine is like 70% cooling system by volume. "No." Is it as quiet? When I benchmarked it it was whisper silent, which is a nice thing to have. "No." Is it tailored for SteamOS? Valve is likely going to be targeting improvements for that hardware. "No." Did you include the quad antenna setup with a dedicated one for Steam Controller? "No." Is it as power efficient? The GabeCube draws very little power. "No." ......... does it at least have more IO? "No." So you built a PC for the same price that sacrifices every design advantage and are crowing that it's stronger, despite knowing that many of the choices for those advantages are what lead to a weaker system in the first place? ".... yes?" I swear to God, I will never understand how someone as purportedly smart as the grand L holder there still has industry ties when he does things that are this disingenuous and stupid to major (and minor) brands on the regular.

Linus Tech Tips builds a computer for the same price as the Steam Machine, with almost double the performance. What is the point of this thing again?

@SamCKx The idea isn't the problem. Most people don't think kids should be on social media. It's the implementation that is the problem. Age verification of online accounts is logged, tagged, stored for later use. That doesn't happen when you're carded for drinks at the pub.

People will attack this policy, but after extensive government consultation, 90% of the parents of under-16s support it. They have watched social media consume huge portions of their children’s lives, so have a very different perspective. Social media amplifies narcissism, materialism, envy and division at an age when young minds are still developing. It keeps children trapped in a digital ecosystem designed to maximise engagement at the expense of real-world experiences, time outdoors, hobbies, independence, and learning how to socialise and build genuine friendships. Perhaps most damaging of all, it encourages constant comparison. Children are measuring themselves against carefully curated versions of other people’s lives every hour of every day. It creates feelings of inadequacy and anxiety on a scale that older generations simply never experienced. There will be much outrage about this, but this policy is truly about protecting children, and anyone who cares about the future of society should support it.

@TonySeruga It's a multifaceted issue in CA. High oil prices, high CA taxes on gas, and the special blends that limit supply are the 3 main factors. With refineries closing, the special blend requirement needs to go. Other efficiency changes over 50 years have reduced the benefits of blends.

This was Chevron’s response to the left’s stickers blaming President Trump. Chevron is letting customers know in California that it’s not Donald Trump causing the insane gas prices in the state, it’s California Democrats. Chevron just added these new signs to their pumps, educating customers, “Sacramento policies did this. Now you pay more.” “California politicians are choosing foreign oil and fuels over local jobs and lower costs.” Companies willing to educate the public and tell the truth. It’s Gavin Newsom and Democrat policies causing a $6.30+ average cost per gallon in California.

Homeless meth/crack addicts are placing these labels all over Southern California gas stations pumps. After 4 days of interviewing a number of these ‘day workers’, verifying daily cash to a reloadable prepaid debit card with VISA Network, my retired FBI forensic accountant followed the breadcrumbs in an effort to identify who was funding the cards, ultimately leading to Arabella Advisors Network via half a dozen LLCs.

@FlyinFaux @Fat_Electrician I think there's an inverse proportion of how long true communism works relative to community size. For smaller communes, it can last a good while but as population increases the stability decreases towards 0 rapidly.

@Fat_Electrician I’ve read through Kapital after my shoulder surgery about 10 years ago. Only to use it as proof to idiots that communism doesn’t work large scale, only in small populations, you know, like a commune, bc if someone makes a bad call, you know where they sleep.

My favorite part about this post is all the people disagreeing with are like: “you don’t know what you’re talking about! The Communist Manifesto is only 50 pages, not 3000 you’re lying!” I’m talking about Kapital. You know Marx’s actual main work. The Communist Manifesto is a political propaganda pamphlet. These fucking retards want to reshape the world around this guy’s ideas and you didn’t even know what they are.
The Fat Electrician@Fat_Electrician

“Have you even read Marx?” A. Yes. B. Even if I hadn’t, the idea that someone has to read thousands of pages of bullshit before they’re allowed to determine it’s bullshit is retarded. If I write a 3,000-page book explaining why slamming your dick in a car door cures cancer, nobody is obligated to read the whole thing to conclude I’m a fucking moron.

@MrGringo418 @reddit_lies Some states do allow persons under 21 to consume alcohol at home under the supervision of their parents. It's a very narrow exception in those states. Other states would call it illegal but put it under "contributing to the delinquency of a minor" and not an actual alcohol law

Good news for Windows 11 gamers: Microsoft is quietly working on a major internal plan called “K2” to slash bloat, boost performance, and make the OS seriously competitive with SteamOS. >SteamOS is now the official benchmark, Microsoft wants Windows 11 to deliver identical (or better) gaming performance on the exact same hardware >Dramatically lower idle RAM usage and a much lighter overall OS footprint >Heavy cuts to AI clutter and pre-installed junk >Completely rebuilt Start menu, reportedly up to 60% faster >A ton of other under-the-hood tweaks (faster File Explorer, snappier UI, fewer background processes, etc.) The changes are probably due to make Windows look better on Project Helix and future handheld/Xbox PC hardware. It finally feels like Microsoft is listening people, can’t believe it

@TheRabbitPy @BleepinComputer Your post reads like this OOB update is for security but it's not - it's a bug fix because the original was killing DC's. I agree that security updates should be installed promptly, but it's hard to jump on updates from MS these days because you don't know if it's a fix or a bomb

@BleepinComputer Another out-of-band patch from Microsoft. These emergency updates are becoming way too frequent. If you're running Windows Server in production, patch management needs to be a weekly ritual, not a quarterly task. The gap between disclosure and exploitation keeps shrinking.
