This typifies everything wrong with Africa. The major issue is that due to underdevelopment in almost everything, cancers are diagnosed late in Africa (when symptoms develop and cancer has spread) and at that stage, there is little or nothing anyone can do. In the UK for instance, there are screening programs for almost every type of cancer, targeting high risk groups to be able to diagnose the cancer at an early stage when it can still be cured or better managed to improve prognosis. This doesn’t mean people are not diagnosed late, but number is falling every year. Also, there has been extensive research going on in cancer, lots of money invested and the advent of immunotherapy has also improved cancer care. We have so many PhD holders and professors in Africa but I hardly see the impact of their research in our everyday lives. Funding and the political will to commit huge sums of money needed for research. So, Africa needs to do better because the world is leaving them behind.

Why do I say this? All these food items are contaminated with a poisonous fungus called AFLATOXINS. Aflatoxins are notorious for increasing the risk of liver cancer. When you eat food that has this type of tomatoes, or you eat food cooked with this kind of onions or you eat this type of corn you are at risk of developing liver cancer. Only eat fresh tomatoes, fresh onions and fresh corn. Avoid rotten tomatoes, blackened onions or corn with mould (even if they are cheaper to buy). This is not a threat or a joke. This is a real life serious medical issue. Kindly share this information.
