I met with a delegation from York University at my office. The group highlighted York University’s growing focus on Africa, particularly given the continent’s youthful population and the emerging opportunities for academic exchange, innovation, and research collaboration.
Our discussions centred on the importance of creating stronger institutional linkages between Ghanaian and international universities. The University expressed its readiness to support partnerships that foster knowledge exchange, student engagement, and shared learning opportunities.
As a York University alumna with a longstanding relationship and personal history with the institution, the engagement was particularly meaningful to me. I recognised the importance of international collaboration and experiential learning, noting that direct engagements with diverse cultures and environments often leave a lasting impact beyond the classroom. I also reaffirmed Government’s openness to initiatives that create opportunities for young people, strengthen educational cooperation, and connect students across borders.
The meeting highlighted the value of educational partnerships in building meaningful global connections and preparing the next generation for an increasingly interconnected world.
Stop comparing yourself to others. You have no idea what people do behind closed doors to maintain the life you admire.
Yes, your situation may not be perfect, but your journey is not theirs and their timing is not yours. Keep building at your own pace.
A few years back, I took a bold step forward, and took up the role of directing the affairs of the then Former President John Dramani Mahama. At the time hope was all the NDC had, coupled of course with a strong desire and determination to make him President again. It was always obvious to myself many others that President Mahama had a lot more to offer the good people of Ghana 🇬🇭.
Watching him win the 2024 elections with such an overwhelming majority filled me with enormous confidence and optimism. Almost two years down the road and it is obvious that Ghanaian’s made a good choice. He is truly the most prepared President ever! He has what it takes to #Reset Ghana and is doing just that!
Let’s pray for our leader, let’s honor our leaders and let’s wish them well and support them as they work hard to deliver on the #resetting ghana. In the Economy, healthcare, infrastructure etc @JDMahama is delivering.
President John Mahama will commit Gh¢ ~70B to build railway lines across the country in Phase II of his transformative Big Push agenda starting 2027. 👇🏾
Phase I of the Big Push will still continue unabated while all other investment continue. John Mahama is the Nation Builder.
On Wednesday, I held a highly productive meeting with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, in Abu Dhabi.
Our discussions centred on a strategic partnership to transform Ghana’s energy landscape. We have agreed to strengthen cooperation in the oil and gas sector, with a specific focus on UAE investment in storage facilities within Ghana.
We discussed the need to diversify our energy portfolio, aiming to reduce our dependence on crude oil and achieve long-term energy stability through cleaner, alternative sources.
We also addressed global security, and I firmly conveyed Ghana’s solidarity with the UAE regarding the complexities of the Middle East conflict. We are united in our determination to see a swift end to hostilities so the world can focus on sustainable development, innovation, and Artificial Intelligence.
Ibrahim Mahama’s Damang Gold Mine Limited sells 100% of its first gold output to GoldBod, BoG in historic move
30th April, 2026
In a bid to support foreign reserves accumulation, Ibrahim Mahama’s Damang Gold Mine Ltd. has sold 100% of its first gold output to the Ghana Gold Board.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi esq., received a team from Damang Gold Mine led by Mr. Ibrahim Mahama at the GoldBod Assay Laboratory in Accra earlier today, where he briefed the media about the historic transaction.
He noted that having Ghanaians at the helm of the country’s minerals and mining sector is key to maximizing national benefits, local value retention and economic transformation.
The Chief Executive Officer bemoaned the low contribution of large-scale mining companies to foreign reserve accumulation efforts of government and urged other large-scale mining companies to emulate the good example set by the Damang Gold Mine. This he said is imperative for the actualization of the objects of the Ghana Accelerated National Reserve Accumulation Program (GANRAP) launched by government and approved by Parliament.
The first output of the Damang Gold Mine delivered to the GoldBod today is about 110KG. The gold will be assayed, valued and purchased by the GoldBod for and on behalf of the Bank of Ghana, refined and added to the Central Bank’s gold holdings.
