Focus on the fourth and equally as important target of 95% of PLWHIV on treatment experiencing good health-related quality of life, including a significant reduction in stigma, is an essential component to achieving our goals. The work continues. ✊🏻

To reach the first ‘95’ goal, I believe more creative, innovative approaches with affected communities at the centre will be key. Additionally, this report does not address the issue of HIV-related stigma and quality of life for people living with HIV.

Great to speak with the HSE Public Health team for Dublin & the Midlands. Our discussion centered on increasing cultural awareness of gbMSM and the role sex plays in our lives so the team are better equipped to handle sensitive conversations had with those who acquire an STI. 🏳️‍🌈

#Mpox is a virus that can be contained if we do the right things at the right time and put all of our minds and all of our efforts together.

During and since the last mpox PHEIC in 2022, diagnostics, vaccines and treatment were not available in the global South. It’s critical that Europe and the US hear this call from African nations and step up. There’s no need to repeat mistakes of the past.

The IMJ article describes the extensive work that HSE colleagues put into standing up a response to the mpox outbreak. It describes how the gay community organised, informed, supported and successfully controlled the spread of a painful condition. Instead, RTÉ attempted shame?
