I cannot fathom the hate Paraguay is getting. Even if they are irritating and can be floppers and divers. They beat Germany. We see nuns crossing the street, suspicious cops with nasty looks, traders in suits and ties, etc., and they are all part of this system, which is "the enemy." The message seems quite clear to me. In contrast, the "resistance fighters" are of all origins. The leader of the resistance, Morpheus, is Black. Among them, there is a traitor — and of course, he is White. He ends up being killed by a Black man. Faced with the cruelty of the Matrix’s guardians — the Agent Smiths — who hunt down our heroes and torture Morpheus, the viewer naturally identifies with the resistance.
