Here are my Opus 4.5 thoughts after ~2 weeks of use.
First some general thoughts, then some practical stuff.
--- THE BIG PICTURE ---
THE UNLOCK FOR AGENTS
It's clear to anyone who's used Opus 4.5 that AI progress isn't slowing down.
I'm surprised more people aren't treating this as a major moment. I suspect getting released right before Thanksgiving combined with everyone at NeurIPS this week has delayed discourse on it by 2 weeks. But this is the best model for both code and for agents, and it's not close.
The analogy has been made that this is another 3.5 Sonnet moment, and I agree. But what does that mean?
Every few generations we get a major model unlock - a moment that unlocks a new way of working. GPT-4 was the unlock for chat, Sonnet 3.5 was the unlock for code, and now Opus 4.5 is the unlock for agents. Thanks to Opus 4.5, agents can now work reliably on increasingly longer time horizons and get real-world work done on your behalf.
Opus 4.5 is like a Waymo. You tell it "take me from A to B", and it takes you there. After a few of these experiences your brain realizes "oh. ok. we live in this world now". And then you're hooked.
From that moment on, you'll never work the same way again.
THE YEAR OF AGENTS
2025 has been touted as the year of agents, and Opus 4.5 + Claude Agent SDK is the pairing that makes that phrase true.
The Claude Agent SDK is the best open secret in AI right now. An agent's harness matters almost as much as its model. If you have a bad harness, then you may as well have a bad model. With the SDK you get a world-class agentic harness out-of-the-box which you can now pair with Opus 4.5 to build real-world agents that actually work.
I'm reminded of Alan Kay's quote "People who are really serious about software should make their own hardware". The agent version of this is "people who are serious about models should make their own harness". Anthropic clearly believes this, and it's working. The pairing of these tools is magic.
I would describe myself as being "unhobblings-pilled", and the Claude Agent SDK + Opus 4.5 is the next major unhobbling. There's now another OOM of new latent economic value stuck in this combo, and it's the job of builders to get it out.
If you were bearish on agents, now is the time to turn bullish.
"ALL OF THIS IS REAL"
"You know what's crazy? That all of this is real". This was Ilya's opening line about the state of AI in his Dwarkesh interview, and I echo that sentiment. I can't believe that Opus 4.5 is real.
There have been several times as Opus 4.5's been working where I've quite literally leaned back in my chair and given an audible laugh over how wild it is that we live in a world where it exists and where agents are this good.
Nat Friedman has this great question on his website: "Where do you get your dopamine?"
Increasingly, I get mine from Claude.
LONG ANTHROPIC
I saw a post yesterday where someone said that Opus 4.5 was the most important thing to happen to them in their professional career. This will be true for more people going forward.
Every year for the past 3 years, Anthropic has grown revenue by 10x. $1M to $100M in 2023, $100M to $1B in 2024, and $1B to $10B in 2025. In Dario's recent DealBook interview he expressed that he wasn't sure if that 10x pattern would hold for 2026.
While he's probably right, I do expect Anthropic's revenue at the end of next year to be much higher than everyone expects. It wouldn't surprise me if they passed OpenAI in valuation by early 2027.
Opus 4.5 is too good of a model, Claude Agent SDK is too good of a harness, and their focus on the enterprise is too obviously correct.
Claude Opus 4.5 is a winner.
And Anthropic will keep winning.

If you have no idea what the first steps towards improving your overall Digital Privacy are, this is for you.
UK now requires ID for websites, EU is working on Chat Control and other countries are trying to replicate this.
You have limited time to put these measures into place.
[LONGFORM]
Before we start, please RT this post. It helps spread the message and more people need to hear about this.
Devices
Computer
For Your computer, You don't need anything expensive or powerful, neither some special features, to start with improving your privacy.
Even something like second hand ThinkPad for $200 dollars will do it, since what you will be installing doesn't have high requirements.
If you have some older PC or laptop around, buy some extra RAM and switch to SSD. Again, this upgrade will cost you not even $100.
If you're brave, you can go all in on your main device.
Phone
For Your Phone it is little bit trickier. What you'll be installing is GrapheneOS, which so far only supports Google Pixels due to security requirements.
I personally use Pixel 8a and the "a" version is probably enough for you unless you need larger display and better cameras. You can get 8a/9a for $300-$500 or less if you wait for Black Friday.
Operating System
Computer
On Your computer, install any Ubuntu based distribution you like.
- Mint Cinnamon
- PopOS
- ZorinOS
Or any other.
You can use Ventoy to put all the distributions you like on one USB and then try each one of them without re-flashing the disk every time.
And yes, unlike Windows, you can use the Linux distribution from the USB without installing them on the full disk.
After you choose your distribution, install it. Make sure to enable Full Disk Encryption during the installation.
You might have heard about distributions like Qubes, Whonix, Tails, Kali or Fedora SecureBlue. I do not recommend them for beginners.
They have either specific use or steep learning curve, so You will probably quit Linux altogether after using them for 5 minutes.
Phone
On Your Pixel, install GrapheneOS. The full installation guide is on their website.
It is nothing hard.
Initial Setup
Installed Linux? Now finish the setup:
In Terminal run:
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
sudo apt purge -y apport
In Settings:
- Enable Automatic updates
- Disable File History
- Disable Lock Screen Notifications
On GrapheneOS, find and configure these settings.
- WiFi auto turn off
- Bluetooth auto turn off
- LTE only mode
- Auto reboot
Many others available, but these are highest ROI with no downside.
Managing Applications
On Linux
You have basically three options to install new apps:
- DEB(/RPM) packages
- AppImages
- Flatpaks
Usually one of the is available for installation.
For managing Flatpaks permission use Flatseal.
For managing AppImages use Gear Lever.
On GrapheneOS
- App Store - basic apps provided by the OS
- Accrescent - limited to some apps, but install from here if possible
- Obtainium + AppVerifier - for (not only FOSS) apps that have OFFICIAL public APKs (don't install from mirrors), make sure to verify hashes if possible
- Play Store - anything else (With anonymous account in Private Space/Different Profile)
Backups
Make sure to backup:
- home folder
- email account
- contacts
- chats
- 2FA code
- (website)
On Linux
1. Create VeraCrypt container or LUKS your whole backup drive
2. Use Back in Time/Pika Backups to backup your home folder
3. Follow 3-2-1 Rule
On GrapheneOS
1. Create VeraCrypt container or LUKS your whole backup drive (or use the container you created for your computer)
2. Export data from apps on your phone (Chats, contacts, 2FA codes...)
3. Connect your phone to computer
4. Transfer the files to your backup media using computer
Web Browser
You're one quick installation from browsing privately.
Stop using Chrome or poorly hardened Firefox.
Daily driver:
→ Brave
→ Zen
"But Brave is Chromium"
That's why it has:
- better sandboxing
- better exploit protection
Just turn off the stuff you don't like and you're good to go...
Temporary/Disposable
→ Mullvad Browser
→ Tor
On GrapheneOS use Vanadium or Brave if you want.
Avoid Gecko (Firefox) based browser on Android since they have almost nonexistent sandboxing there.
VPN
Go to Mullvad(.)net
1) Go to Mullvad(.)net
2) Create account and login
3) Pay with Monero or Cash
4) Download the app
5) Login
6) Connect
No logs, no email, no credit card, no two year plans.
Easy as.
Password Manager
Use legit Password Manager.
Avoid:
Build-in browser Password Manager
LastPass
Use:
Bitwarden
KeePassXC
KeePassDX
And backup your password vault regularly.
Two Factor Authentication
Core tenets for 2FA:
- 2FA for all accounts
- only FOSS apps where you can export codes
backup codes frequently
What to use?
Apps: Aegis, Ente Auth
HW Keys: YubiKey, NitroKey
Email
Avoid it for any communication that could be on encrypted messenger.
Use it only for receiving corporate emails, bills, subscriptions...
For Email:
→ ProtonMail
→ Tuta
For Alias:
→ SimpleLogin
→ Addy
Email will never be private, so make sure you have some decent email strategy.
1. Personal email (Your name in address)
2. Pseudonymous email (Pseudonym in address)
3. Others (Job, Business...)
Cloud & File Sharing
If you can, use Syncthing:
1. Download it on your computer
2. Make sure to enable Launch on start-up
3. Download Syncthing-fork on your phone
4. Connect your phone and computer
5. Now you can sync folders between your devices
Which ones?
My recommendation is KeePassXC vault or Obsidian Vault.
For Cloud:
- Ente
- Proton Drive
For self-host:
- Nextcloud
- Immich
Metadata Removal
On Linux
Install it with this command
> sudo apt install mat2
Now you can just right-click files and then select "Remove metadata".
On GrapheneOS
Install ExifEraser from Accrescent store.
Open, add photo or video, remove metadata.
It's not everything, but this should put you ahead of 99% others who don't even know they're being robbed of their privacy.
Stay Private.
Not only Online.

the kid who shot charlie was only 22. this is insane because 22 means he basically grew up marinating in the broadband soup.
he had no buffer period of pre internet adulthood, no separation between formative years & the always on firehose. his psyche was forged entirely in the age of memes, polarization, constant feeds, & parasocial rage cycles.
we are now seeing individuals in society like this reaching adulthood & have access to very sophisticated weapons. this will be a serious challenge for security in america going forward.

At a CBDC conference in the Bahamas
Spoke to a top German bank saying 50% working capital cost cuts are possible with 20-30% savings on all debt / treasury operations - but private blockchains. Like $50-100m of annual savings per large client. Very material
It increasingly seems like CBDCs in Europe are inevitable due to “monetary sovereignty” considerations. The Bank Of England is currently in a pilot and their chain will have a smart contract platform bolted on (you’re tired of corporate L1s anon? Wait til every country having one). Mainnet decision for BoE in 2026
I pointed out to the German banker that the working capital debt instruments could be tokenized and traded by non KYCed degenerates who were forced by Trump to keep their money in stables. He started laughing and then realized I was right
Canton network and other American players already making inroads there
But this creates a really interesting set up. Everyone saw how Pendle looping got usde $6b of TVL in a month. One thing we know about speculators is that they love carry trades
Even if usde only has 7% yields the defi primitives enable leveraged bets that make interesting returns for typical retail
There will be a situation where every corporate liability is on chain (with a yield) - and has public blockchain representations even if the core assets are on private blockchains
So the “real world asset” thesis is initially a corporate treasury optimization function, that gets turbo charged by CBDCs. One *could* view this as competitive for a lot of existing L1s and you’d be right at a surface level
If the BOE has a smart contract platform on its CBDC then why would a UK corporate use another platform
But this analysis misses the Pendle thing.
Let’s say you start looping Siemens corporate liabilities. That’s great until you realize one is denominated in euros and the other is usd. So it won’t work as well. So contracts will be created on the back end to automatically swap yields into UsD equivalents
Your eyes are rolling back at this point but basically what I’m saying is
1) the German corporations are coming on chain to save money. They can’t help it - they’re Germans and have to optimize everything
2) the Europeans and UK are coming on chain via CBDCs for political sovereignty bc they hate Trump. This is also why they’re arming themselves
3) these assets and chains will be interoperable with existing smart contract platforms
4) the resulting yield trades will have massive fx risk when juxtaposed with massive US dollar stable supply
5) people will solve this and you’ll have a system where you can literally leverage trade any fixed income spread in the world from your web browser
6) the Korean and Japanese retail trading markets are huge crypto volume drivers and already *very familiar* with fx carry trades.
ALL FUTURE ASSETS WILL BE LOOPED ON CHAIN
Nobody is talking about it which is why I’m writing about it a bit
The very simple conclusion of all the above is that
1) Ethereum is going to go deflationary bc the stablecoin ramp will be accompanied by European RWA surge
2) the RWA assets probably end up represented and traded on blockchains so all the exchanges make more money
3) this all results in huge fx trading volume increases (probably why Ripple acquired hidden road)
4) the most incremental asset is probably fixed income spreads - which is why Canton network and fixed income clearing on chain is succeeding (has Goldman Sachs already). MASSIVE CARRY TRADES
5) average Uk/ EU citizens who are already alarmed by censored internet will freak out about CBDCs and get crypto pilled. The CBDCs ironically serve as on ramps
So the entire CBDC/RWA configuration is massively bullish. Galaxy stock should work. ETH/ SOL on the RWA ramp. We need to see ripple actually articulate how this links to hidden road for xrp to pump. Bullish all exchanges and super bullish all defi protocols. Then BTC for all the blackpilled euros
