@K_Niemietz Which one? They're both in the same business - doing anything for attention. Maybe its an act and they are better in private.

@DrNeilStone People responding with this clip are all answering the same question: what can I think of that would make terrible television. Two smart alecs seeking attention, got it.

@londonette Is there a BAFTA or whatever for the most pointless interview exercise. Stupid question.

I knew my Russell Brand interview would be an interesting experience when he insisted on saying a prayer for both of us before we started.

@SBarrettBar I'd agree with half of that. Improve living standards and ppl won't emigrate in large numbers. But there is a racism of low expectations to suggest this can only happen with the North's behest.

If @piersmorgan hadn't blocked me, I'd happily tell him that his judgment here was impeccable; a masterful silence. I'm astonished that @rustyrockets, with his capacity as an actor and spontaneous verbiage, didn't have the presence of mind simply to extemporise. He most have known the gist of the verse from Isaiah, and could (I'd have thought) have paraphrased with conviction. Piers wouldn't have been any the wiser.

Islamic imam in Germany: “As soon as you enter Paradise, 72 virgins will be waiting for you. When you are done with one virgin, the next one will be ready for you. The virgins won’t be jealous of each other.” How do you even fix this mentality?

@CJohnCC @kifatlarge @timothy_stanley But nobody is 'coerced' to Assisted D. The issue is about 'subtle psychological pressure' - not the same as 'coerced'. That's at the heart of the analogy.

@CJohnCC @kifatlarge @timothy_stanley Yes, but you've got a bee in your bonnet on something that has nothing to do with this - which is about finding an analogy on 'subtle social pressure'. Straight marriage has more of that than gay marriage. Forced marriage - an important topic for another day.

@CJohnCC @kifatlarge @timothy_stanley Why do you go on about something that has nothing to do with the point I made? Yes, it is a terrible thing, but diddly squat to do with my point.

@CJohnCC @kifatlarge @timothy_stanley No, the issue for the ban is the irreversibility of it. If Assisted D were reversible, who cares? The whole marriage thing is the analogy on the issue of choice. Kim L likened it to gay marriage - a choice which (AFAIK, could be wrong) is not accompanied by social pressure.

@kifatlarge @AdrianD444 @timothy_stanley The choice isn't lawful if, as many of the people in the situation who wish to die aren't able to do so without assistance, it's effectively disability discrimination. By your argument we should ban straight marriage because it also can involve coercion and undue influence.

@CJohnCC @kifatlarge @timothy_stanley We all have that choice. But if a person assists someone to do that even if the person requests, its rightly a crime. Issue at hand is whether doctors should get special exemption that doesn't apply to everyone else.

@CJohnCC @kifatlarge @timothy_stanley It is irrelevant to my point which was about an analogy between X and Y. An analogy is 2 different things that have something, not everything, in common. You want to talk about Z which may be an important issue but has has nothing to do with the analogy.

@CJohnCC @timothy_stanley Technically it failed due to running out of time. But delays were on the 'lack of safeguarding' issues.
