A key thing to understand about my account is that I don't share the common disdain for the elderly. On the contrary, I think older men (and women) often dress quite beautifully. Thus, saying something is associated with older people is not a negative for me.

@dieworkwear Interesting history, however my strong association with the elderly make them extremely uncool to me. Their overpowering uncool effect is such that they make Michael Jackson look elderly and uncool.

We’ve raised $100M at a $1.5B valuation. We built Render to give developers an intuitive path to reliable and scalable cloud infrastructure. Now, we are bringing that same philosophy to long-running, stateful infrastructure for AI apps & agents. 🧵

The era of the "generic cloud wrapper" is over. To survive the next decade, a cloud provider needs deep, structural differentiation, not just better UI/DX. In 2026, @render isn't just competing with hyperscalers. We are building something they can't copy. Watch this space 🚀

Many developers still treat AWS as the only way to build production-ready infrastructure. @maorshlomo proved otherwise. With @render, Maor built the kind of cloud stack that used to require a whole engineering team, and @base44 landed an $80M acquisition. Base44 is a chat-to-code platform from a solo founder. Render lets Maor ship faster, automate more, and spin up enterprise-grade infrastructure without a backend or DevOps crew. CI/CD, infra-as-code, preview environments, private networking, autoscaling; all ready out of the box. What once took weeks now takes minutes. Here’s what Maor told @lennysan on Lenny’s Podcast when asked about his stack: “Render, oh my God. Honestly, they’re not paying me anything. I wish I’d invested. This was so much fun to work with and still is. In my previous company, we had large DevOps teams just to push to prod. [On Render] it’s easy to manage a bunch of processes, and easy to start and scale up web apps.” So why do people still assume only AWS can handle real production loads? History. Heroku was perfect for getting started. However, as the industry moved forward, it failed to build what serious teams need: private networking, CDN-backed static sites, custom CPU and memory plans, persistent disks, HTTP/2 and HTTP/3, DDoS protection, and more. Heroku stagnated, and the myth stuck that platforms always hit a capability ceiling. Render smashes that ceiling. We’ve invested in core infrastructure and capabilities that give small teams the leverage once reserved for large platform orgs. Customers don’t have to rebuild half their stack or live without critical features as their apps scale. Even today, some developers start with Render, assuming they’ll move to AWS later. They always stay because Render gives them infra superpowers that help them continue to scale. The proof is here: solo founders like Maor ship production-grade AI apps with tooling once reserved for large DevOps teams. Stories like Base44’s are a signal: it’s time to rethink what’s possible when your cloud platform can handle all the heavy lifting. PS: Huge thanks to Maor for the kind words and congrats on the Base44 acquisition: what you built solo is inspiring. These are the stories that remind me why I started Render.

Before starting @render, I spent a few months learning all I could about healthtech. I saw how difficult it was to move quickly when dealing with outdated, complex infrastructure and compliance red tape. While I didn't stick with healthtech, the experience stuck with me.

With $80M in new funding, we're reimagining the cloud for the AI era. The results speak for themselves: * 2 million+ developers * 100K+ new developers joining every month * Powering unicorns like @Stablecoin and @watershed "Render delivers the perfect combination of simplicity and power." - Sean Yu, Co-founder at Bridge This milestone isn't just about numbers — it's about our commitment to simplifying cloud infrastructure for the AI era. We're eliminating complexity so developers can focus on what truly matters: building extraordinary products. Very proud of everyone at Render for today's milestone. More in 🧵

Fucking beyond insane "fuck you" from @googlecloud. Literally never seen this before in my life They automatically LOWERED our quota, causing an incident, and then refuse to automatically upgrade it? We've had such a litany of issues I don't know how anybody uses this product

but, you know what, fuck it - observability wasn't a thing in 2016, everyone told us we were too late to market and the best monitoring products had already been built.
