@EnuciusLabinac Also, half the JRPGs I've played don't even unlock their full gameplay ecosystem until you're like 10 hours in, so it's not like I can even make a quick judgement for myself

@EnuciusLabinac I can listen to someone talk about a JRPG for 20 minutes and still have no idea how it actually plays. It's actually very frustrating when I'm trying to pick a new one to play.

@anymanfitness I'll be honest, I'm a blue collar worker and reasonably strong, but I can only do like 5 without cheating. It's probably because I don't actively exercise and I'm big (I'm down 32 lbs, but I'm still fat and also have a lot of muscle mass due to genetics)

@Fat_Electrician I think the Pinkertons would make for a good video. People don't realize that they still exist and tried to sue Rockstar over their portrayal in Red Dead Redemption. They basically morphed from detectives and bounty hunters into a corporate militia. It's insane.

I would be interested in seeing the results if the question was framed differently. Like instead of passively pressing a blue button, you have to actively step onto train tracks where the train will only stop if 50% choose the same

Oh my fucking god. I remade my Payday 2 loot tally video to finally make it up to date and less than 2 weeks later they announce the first new Payday 2 DLC in years. It's not a new heist, but now there's a nonzero chance they'll add more later, making the video outdated. Bruh

Another fun detail that I forgot about since my first MGQ playthrough is how Alice is basically the logical extreme of the tsundere archetype. It's not just romantic, she's that way about anything that gets her excited (except food). It really does a lot for her own character arc

I'm not saying the people who adapt video games into films/shows need to be passionate gamers themselves, but is it too much to ask they be directed by people who DON'T have blatant contempt for the medium?

Noah Hawley says his ‘FAR CRY’ series won’t be adapting any of the games as he thinks audiences skip the story cutscenes in those games. “When you play a video game, you only really move forward through the gameplay section, and then you have these cut scenes that you can skip, so when you go to adapt those games you have to be aware that makes the human drama kind of irrelevant to the storyline.” (Source: Deadline)

@TheMadladKing There's no direct explanation given, but in-universe this area is meant to be a stereotypical JRPG labyrinth/dungeon. Wouldn't surprise me if it's essentially an homage to old-school dungeon crawlers. There's a lot of meta stuff, so it would fit

One thing I find hilarious aboit Monster Girl Quest is how they handle the bad endings. Most are "MC gets enslaved and/or killed." Then there's Kitsune whose "bad ending" is literally "they get married and start a happy loving family."

@wolfbetter1 I haven't played Paradox so I can't answer, but I wouldn't say Quest's combat is boring. It's just that it's basically a puzzle game disguised as an RPG.
