I think we need full scale audience retraining on what promos are. Give me that post match interview where Bayley and Lyra were sweating and out of breath and basically were like “hell yeah we want the tag belts” over really shitty turn taking diss battles. Idc if you’re not trick level charismatic. Give me Jackie/Cathy/Byron in the ring or on the stage asking wrestling questions to a wrestler, and let them just answer questions in character. It doesn’t have to be super smooth. The online WWE fans’ heads exploded just because B Fab and Rhea were talking over each other. Nobody in real life stands across somebody they dislike and waits 5 minutes to get their word in during an argument. It’s the most contrived aspect of modern wrestling presentation that we accept as normal.
