Is the US currently banned from any UK military base in relation to Iran?
Also, who is by far and away the US's most capable and also useful ally?
English

The United Kingdom will refuse to allow the United States to use its airbases, particularly RAF Fairford and Diego Garcia which long-range strategic bombers with the U.S. Air Force have previously utilized on a case-by-case basis to carry out strikes on Iran, for missions that target Iranian bridges, power plants, or other civilian infrastructure, citing concerns that such strikes could harm civilians and constitute war crimes, senior officials tell The i Paper.

English

You must have missed the news that your country intends to block us from using bases for the missions planned.
And you aren’t even close to our most capable ally. Maybe in the past the most trusted…but not the most capable. Your military is a shell of what it formerly was.
Starmer’s blind hatred (and apparently yours ) for Israel has blinded him to the chaos Iran has caused worldwide for over 45 years.
English

Fairford
Lakenheath
Mildenhall
Menwith Hill
Croughton
Diego Garcia
Akrotiri, Cyprus
Those are the British bases currently being used in the Iran conflict as well as the UK/US joint base in northern Iraq that we're defending.
Providing US high end intelligence/surveillance.
Operations - limited.
Logistics.
Political backing.
UK forces sent to Gulf States.
Troops, Jets, air defence systems. Intercepting missiles/drones.
Escorting ships and shooting down threats.
RAF either in the sky or ready for immediate launch shooting down drones/missiles.
So we don't have a lot to offer, yet without us this whole conflict becomes significantly harder for you.
Speaking in general military terms?
Also not true. The UK is Americas most capable ally.
This in an illegal conflict.
Our national security advisor Jonathan Powell was around during US/Iran talks.
He said a deal was in reach, talks should have continued.
They didn't because Israel told the US they were going to strike.
If our national security advisor is advising that Iran were serious in talks why would we enter an offensive for Israel because they couldn't be held back?
After what they've just done in Gaza? Netanyahu is a wanted war criminal. It is clear what his intentions were. Trump was dragged into this was by Israel.
I hate Starmer but he made the right choice.
Even now, Iran considers the UK being involved offensively.

@guenevere559 @sentdefender When you lease a property it is “yours” for as long as you occupy it and have a lease…but let’s play semantics . Simple fact: we leave. They close. You can’t afford them.
English

@Aeronca7EC @sentdefender Doesn't matter, theyre still not yours.
English

I would have thought that too…and I never thought I would say it myself..but the mood has shifted significantly. We don’t care if you fight the war (you honestly don’t have a ton to offer) but handicapping us by refusing us the use of the bases is a whole different matter. That will likely be a tipping point with even more in the US.
English

I've seen "leave nato" or "leave Europe" but what I've realised, a lot of the time Americans consider continental Europe and the UK seperate so I'm never really sure.
The thing is, UK/US ties are so deep, a single president/PM wouldn't be able to cut ties.
Starmer is an idiot, Trump is behaving like a petulant child.
What I'm looking forward to, is when King Charles visits.
Trump will have a few days sleep then his speech will be a complete 180.
He knows how unpopular Starmer is and he's really taking advantage of that bullying him.

@UnBearAbull @sentdefender Don’t be surprised. You literally have US Congressman that are defense hawks now calling for exactly this. The tide of public opinion has dramatically shifted against the UK here. Just like many of you (and a great many of us) don’t like Trump we equally dislike Starmer.
English

Mental.
The US won't close a single UK base, in fact you'll become more dependant on UK bases.
They're not here to defend the UK, they are here for your benefit.
They are bilateral bases, not nato bases.
The backbone of 5 eyes runs through the UK. Even down to intelligence, the US loses if you're not here.
English

@guenevere559 @sentdefender You don’t have the budget to maintain them so they will close. Just like all the rest we left since the fall of the iron curtain.
English

@Aeronca7EC @sentdefender Those bases belong to the uk mod, you lease them from us, so technically theyre NOT YOURS.
English

@vam976 @AmericaFailed1 @CappiesCantCope @US_did_911 @drhossamsamy65 They certainly were not shot down. No chance they would all be that close together
English

@Aeronca7EC @AmericaFailed1 @CappiesCantCope @US_did_911 @drhossamsamy65 Viendo las imágenes de los aparatos destruidos, todos juntos, te parece que hayan sido derribados en el aire o en tierra?

⛔️The Pentagon is hiding the truth about the failed operation last night‼️
⛔️ The American camouflage for the landing operation at a remote airport in Isfahan was actually aimed as a major military landing operation ‼️
⛔️The American Isfahan operation was an initial landing operation for stabilising entry routes and securing it for a large ground landing operation, and when it failed, the pentagon diverted the compass with the excuse of rescuing the pilot to justify their failure‼️
⛔️You don’t rescue one pilot with a huge C-130 ‼️It was another major disaster and failure that they lied about‼️

English

@AmericaFailed1 @CappiesCantCope @US_did_911 @drhossamsamy65 They used Little Birds because of the terrain..MH-6s don’t have that range.
English

@Aeronca7EC @CappiesCantCope @US_did_911 @drhossamsamy65 Yes. Blackhawks can fly for 1300 miles with external fuel tanks.
300km is a nothing burger.
English

Their narrative doesn’t add up 😂.
This claim is:
•They supposedly flew in, established a secret landing site, brought in two C-130s, then pushed 35 miles to a remote mountain to recover a severely wounded pilot.
•After that, they ran the same 35 miles back—across open terrain—carrying the injured pilot while engaged in a nighttime firefight.
•Then, upon returning, the two C-130s were somehow immobilized in the sand (there sure is no sand there 😂😂) at the original landing site.
•The force continued fighting until three additional C-130s and more troops, arrived to extract them. •Then they, before leaving, destroyed the original aircraft to prevent them from falling into Iranian hands.
Doesn’t add up !!

English

@pascoraldo7 @US_did_911 @drhossamsamy65 Try again. C-130s are used for a whole variety of things besides tactical transport . Do a little research on MC-130s. For real fun research the AC-130 and come back and tell me how they are only used for transporting large numbers of troops or for logistics
English

@Aeronca7EC @US_did_911 @drhossamsamy65 ...C-130 are massive. You don't need it for a rescue operation. It's used for transporting large number of soldiers and equipments/logistics
English

@CappiesCantCope @US_did_911 @drhossamsamy65 A few clicks? It was over 300 clicks . Do you know anything about helicopters and their range?
English

@Aeronca7EC @US_did_911 @drhossamsamy65 Why would helicopters need to be transported or refueled a few kilometers inside Iran's border?
I can see them trying to recover a damaged helicopter.
English

@ClimateBob8 @drhossamsamy65 Right. All with in a circle of a few hundred yards. You aren’t very bright.
English

@Aeronca7EC @drhossamsamy65 They didn't suppress anything.
Iran shot them all down.
English

@ClimateBob8 @drhossamsamy65 The MH-6s also provide suppression fire. They don’t got alone . Do a bit of research on the function of the MC-130 and the MH-6.
English

@Aeronca7EC @drhossamsamy65 They already had 2 helicopters there.
You're not making sense.
How many helicopters do you need to 'rescue' 1 person?
English

@ClimateBob8 @drhossamsamy65 They also carry MH-6 helicopters who don’t have the range to get to the rescue site on their own . There a number of different versions of the C-130 including the MC-130 designed for precisely this type of mission. A little research goes a long way
English

@drhossamsamy65 "You don’t rescue one pilot with a huge C-130"
Exactly. And they sent 2. These things carry up to 92 combat troops.
It was the start of a ground incursion using 'rescue' as a ruse and it failed spectacularly.
English

@US_did_911 @drhossamsamy65 It isn’t a heavy transport . It is a tactical transport and this model is designed for exactly what it did..transporting and refueling MH-6 helicopters.
English

@drhossamsamy65 Exactly. I was wondering the same thing - what a hell was C-130 heavy transport doing in the rescue operation ?
But at least we now know one thing - the ground war is NOT coming. Even a mad man like Trump will not go for it now after seeing this.
English

Due to the attacks by the US and Israeli regimes on certain energy infrastructure, Iran has decided to block all diplomatic communication channels between Iran and the US. According to this decision, given Iran's upper hand on the battlefield, if the attacks on Iran escalate in the same manner, communication avenues will remain closed until the US congressional elections.
English

@SpeakerPelosi You know as well as I do the court is going to overturn that law as soon as it is challenged on Constitutional issues
English

@maura_resister And the moment this issue appears before the Supreme Court the law that Biden signed is overturned on Constitutional grounds
