Have you tried it though? You would know it is a full slicer with multiple buildplate support not just reslicing with different params, runs on any phone AND IT IS FREE for reasonable models and useage and it is also FREE FOR NON PRUSA printers, print profiles included. So I do not get the point, of course we cannot provide unlimited compute for free, should I just shut it down then? We had hard cap before but some asked to allow for more use so we did.

I'm well aware Prusa is trying to turn this into a profitable service (or at the minimum covering their costs), but this clearly paints the picture for modern printers charging subscriptions services to unlock special "cloud only" features, regardless if there is free local slicing avalible. Why is every company proving free remote cloud access? Bambu is providing a great service by allowing any model from Makerworld to essentially be sliced in the cloud, removing the quite involved barrier to entry for a ton of people. I can see a future where that is locked behind a paywall, including remote printer access. Great time to build a custom, completly local printer 😅

@josefprusa @ZombieHedgehog_ 8.99$ for what if offers is reasonable specially with print farm access even at 9.99 or 11.99 still fair enough. Specially offering such services requires servers and and development team which is not free.

@JoshMurrah Hard to argue. Bambu changed everything and Prusa hasn't caught up. Reliability only goes so far when a P1S is HALF the price.

Good news - Prusa has the pre-assembled MK4s down to $870 shipped to the USA (cheaper shipping, and 20% off, pretty good discount) - bad news, is that I just don't think this is a competitive price at all anymore for your typical consumer. I'm guessing this is mostly turning into a farm-use, or commercial-use printer maybe?

@AfghaniBader If you have the driver slots and the $$ then go for it, it's fantastic! I just genuinely don't see a point in using such luxuries on a printer with a build volume of 120mm^3 at all. This is the same Z axis style that Bambu Lab use btw.
