@_Greenix It could be useful, but indeed as a weird mix up as it can easily be baited out by G&W being at a familiar angle, the end lag would make it punishable, if not then you are back to neutral and nothing happened.
English

@After_Player Hence where the usage of upsmash and nikita come into play as weird options. Since snake can set traps and the upsmash projectile can hit gnw from above or below including beating out aerials lol
English

@_Greenix Yes that is why most of the time you will see G&W not commit on falling litteraly in front of their ennemies if they are not shielding, it is because that's not very smart, no matter which character you are playing as. A mixup like any other can be double jump into a segond fair
English

@After_Player It’s plus only if you can get that fastfall landing fair on shield. But if you can’t get the landing fair on shield you can get hit since it can be pretty telegraphed the snake can avoid it or swing instead of shielding
English

@_Greenix Snake is good at punishing aggression, which is great as G&W is a rushdown, dash attack near the ledge kills early if not stalled, he can stay below platforms for ever and G&W can barely do anything, but half of the mu comes from realizing that G&W is actually very predictible
English

@After_Player I’m just trying to figure out how gnw gets openings against a good snake that does know that weak point. Gnw’s shield pressure attempts can be exploited. Gnw in the air isn’t as good if you know what you’re doing as snake and on ground snake has the advantage.
English

@_Greenix Yes, it is well known that G&W's fair has some big problems, notably the fact that it has no priority. G&W has also an unblockable setup after a fastfalling landing fair, as it can be plus on shield that way, which is enough to grab you before you are out of shieldstun.
English

@After_Player Gnw fair is a funny move since while it is technically -3 it’s has 17 frames of endlag and only autocancels on frame 42 and onward but you act aggressively you can just beat it out or get away and reset neutral. Gnw nair is -5 IF it hits your shield but again you can beat it
English

@_Greenix Yeah but then it's just called footsies, something that both players should be well aware of at higher levels. I've already lost multiple sets because of that weak spot, it is not new but most people overlook that spot
English

@After_Player Yea, they can fastfall nair but if they ever start it just close enough then they can eat a bair, dash attack, dtilt, etc. because the vulnerable point is on the sides as well as below
English

@_Greenix Snake is quite well known for having bad oos, and G&W known for good oos and good shield pressure. Basically 90% of the time the G&W will be free to do as he wishes, the other 10% being when snake has a nade in hand. Some say his nades are his biggest defensive option.
English

@After_Player Combined with the fact every grounded move gnw has except for jab and upsmash are -13 or worse on shield, plus snake’s normals like dtilt have range and snake has a frame 6 oos option in dair with upsmash being 11 frames
English

@_Greenix If you've ever watched G&W at top lvl you might have seen them spam nair fast fall in neutral from far away, especially against characters such as Snake, Wii Fit or any character with a burst option that can low profile. The goal is to punish thoses bursts with the final hitbox.
English

@After_Player The nair gap seems like a pretty massive of a weakness that’s abuseable from frame 7-21 only frames 22-23 are safe but that just means you punish the follow up option after landing with the final hit of nair and if they up b you punish
English

@_Greenix So it's pretty much what I was talking about, such things like good SDI and punishing bucket commits are already a thing since forever, most other things here are situational and require to learn to mix up a little, which lower level players really struggle to do.
English

@After_Player On paper there is a surprising amount of gaps hence why I want to speak with snake players and test with gnw to see how consistently those gaps can be abused. My snake is alright compared to a high level snake and I’m mainly curious if a better snake can use those gaps.
