For 22 yrs & a bit more, we watched her grow & enjoyed every bit of her cheerfulness & innocence. I can't forget her beauty in character. Her life, so brief, yet exceptional.. Today's the World Sickle Cell Day, and this is dedicated to Ayomikun. Therefore, I #Tweet4SickleCell.

Almighty. You allowed us to witness this blessed month; please accept every fast, every prayer, every tear, and every silent supplication. If we fell short, forgive us. If we were sincere, multiply it for us. If we were weak, strengthen us. Keep the light of Ramadan, its discipline & mercy alive in our hearts. Aameen.

@Mie_naht Zakat is based on wealth, not age; so if a Muslim, even at 20 years old possesses wealth that reaches the Nisab and it remains for a full lunar year, they are obligated to give zakat. For this year, the nisab is about ₦17.5 million (depending on the current gold or silver value)

Please is there an age when someone can give Zakat or it has to do with just wealth? Like even if you’re rich at 20yrs, you are eligible?

I’ll tell you somethings about Northern Nigeria. The North is blessed with too many natural aphrodisiacs. I have a friend who lived most of his life down to adulthood in the north, he’s from Jos. He once told me that it was until he left the north and entered the south for greener pastures that he heard about the issue of people looking for children, especially married people. He said in the north, if you laugh too much with a woman, she might get pregnant. The East, West and South are the reasons why livestock became very expensive. Left for northerners, a cow would still sell for 50k in Nigeria today. My friend (let’s call him John) said it is people from other regions that eat meat like our lives depend on it. And we kill animals for any and everything including the burial of a young person. The North has more snails than we realize and they even waste them cos they don’t value them. John said in the north, eating too fast or swallowing garri or fufu is a sign of a greedy person. Your parents will correct it from small. John said the crops God blessed northern Nigeria with can sustain Nigeria’s economy even without the oil. And the oil is what Nigeria should have used to become a first world country, more like the icing on a cake. He said we in the south who haven’t been to the north have not seen or eaten 50% of the exotic crops the north is blessed with.
