@PurdueToobah Haven’t been to Palo Duro yet. Do you think that ram will still be there for me if I go?
English

@carlprothman @nikitabier Thanks. I also cull the herd every so often. Mine nearly always have aviators of attractive Asian women - pretty easy to identify

AggieEngineer, great question. I don’t think most bots follow us because we personally matter to them.
They usually do it to look real, farm attention, scrape audiences, push spam later, or build accounts that can be sold or used for manipulation. Following active real people makes those accounts look less empty.
That’s why I think trimming them out gradually makes sense. Not for vanity metrics, but because who we follow sends a signal about what we want to see and engage with. It sharpens algorithmic relevance by giving the platform clearer interest signals, which can help content distribution.
It also improves engagement quality when your network consists of more active, real accounts, and helps maintain a healthier follower-to-following ratio.
Done gradually, this keeps your profile cleaner and your feed more useful.
Maybe @nikitabier or others can add more details I’ve left out.

@AaRum32 @stardust1199 Thanks Aaron. I’ll try that next time.
English

@stardust1199 Easy. Tap the screen, the sunlight icon shows up if your camera is set to auto focus, slide the sun icon to the left and click the lock button. I shot the moon by doing that.

Carl, you mention something that I have not understood: why are bots following me? What benefit is it for the humans behind them?
In earlier days, people would try to inflate their apparent presence to increase the OP benefits. But I am not here for “traffic”. I don’t pay for followers. So what gives with these bots?
English

@nikitabier Nikita, I already have the Active Times heat map in X Analytics, so I can tell which hours tend to bring me the most impressions.
What would be more valuable is better Following quality info: which accounts I follow are least active, which look like bots or dead accounts, and breakdowns by geolocation.
That would make it much easier to clean up my Following list without needing a third-party tool like Audiense.

@bamfordandwolfe No alcohol? So what illegal drug do they contain? This is the pitch of drug dealers, not legitimate social drinking.
English

@notoagenda21 @8ntmuch That definitely counts. Also, proof of presence! 😁

@notoagenda21 Great photo!
It is interesting how the snow on the mountain is washed out, but in the subdued reflection you can see more details of the mountain. There’s often hidden color data in the blown-out highlights and shadows.

@Arden_2210 I get two answers.
a=4
4 +(4x4)
4 + 16
= 20
But with some unconventional thinking
a=-5
-5 + (-5 x -5)
-5 + 25
=20
Bet you didn’t see that coming.

It was a trail suitable for minimal fitness. Mostly flat but definitely a well worn dirt trail. Our cruise ship docked on the east coast for a day to allow for us the tour the land of Panama. Otherwise the view from the canal waters was not terribly interesting as we went thru the carnal the next day.
English

@AggieEngineer1 AggieEngineer, now that is a trail with some adventure built in. 😀
Was it as steep as it looks?
English

@carlprothman Here’s a mirror shot. 😁
Just trying to keep things interesting.
BTW Great mountain lake shot, Carl. It’s rare to catch a large lake so still unless you are there as the sun rises.

English

@Beno10_MFC I get 9 or 49 depending on whether you add first, or divide first in the last equation.
A=50
B=5

@indian_pitta Coming from a background of photography for use in litigation, I don’t change the content. But I do globally adjust white balance, clarity and “shadows and highlights” kind of things.
English

@8ntmuch For some reason this pic is much darker after I post to X. I lightened it up here and then reposted, without any significant change.
