CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) and HCIA (Huawei Certified ICT Associate) are both entry-level certifications in the field of networking, but they have some key differences: Vendor-specific: CCNA is a certification offered by Cisco Systems, focuses on Cisco networking products and technologies while HCIA is a certification program offered by Huawei Technologies, focusing on Huawei networking products and technologies 2. the ccna curriculum covers networking fundamentals, routing, switching, security, and wireless networking, with a focus on Cisco-specific technologies like IOS and ASA. HCIA Covers ICT (Information and Communication Technology) fundamentals, including networking, security, and cloud computing, with a focus on Huawei-specific technologies like Huawei Cloud and Huawei Network Exam format: Typically i love the ccna exam because of how precise it is. It consists of a single exam (200-301 CCNA) with over 85 questions and 3-4 labs ( i did 3 labs config) covering a broad range of networking topics. HCIA consists of a single exam (HCIA-Routing & Switching) with 60 questions, covering a broad range of ICT topics, no lab configurations Career prospects: CCNA is widely recognized and respected in the industry, opening doors to entry-level networking positions, such as network administrator, network engineer, or help desk technician. HCIA is recognized within the Huawei ecosystem and can open doors to entry-level positions in Huawei partner companies, as well as in industries that use Huawei technologies. Well, I'm happy i got both Cert and i enjoy exploring these vendors cause I've learnt so much! Big appreciation to @Uothmern_ZM for making it possible to acquire HCIA. Please blast his dm with APPRECIATION MESSAGE.

Update: I helped my friend prep for this Data Centre interview with some AoCs and he got the offer. His response: “you sabi this Data Centre thing 😩” Plot twist: I never did DCOps, I just spent years working at a DC in Lagos and managed another DC somewhere in West Africa while paying attention to the Ops team daily activities. One interesting thing about Tech is you really learn by being there daily.

Saw a familiar face on a virtual deployment meeting today. A friend joining from the client side. The quick acknowledgment between us said a lot. It’s a great feeling seeing each other grow in the same field. Now I get to walk him through the deployment progress from start.

Today’s reading, I decided to know how VRF works generally and how it works in Next Generation FireWalls (NGFWs) VRF creates multiple independent routing tables on the same device where each VRF has its own routes, interfaces, ARP table. It is also used heavily by ISPs and in multi-tenant networks and its major goal is traffic separation at Layer 3 In FortiGate, you can liken it to a VDOM (virtual domain) which has its own interfaces, routing table, and then firewall policies, VPN, security profiles…So in practice, a VDOM behaves like a VRF plus firewall features. FortiGate achieves VRF functionality via VDOMs, not via a VRF command. But, VRF is only isolated to routing and you can find such in Cisco routers. For PALO ALTO, it uses Virtual Routers where each VR has its own routing table, Interfaces are assigned per virtual router and is very similar to VRF in behavior, different name. I don’t know much on checkpoint but I think they also use systems… I just don’t know much about that. NGFW vendors avoid calling it VRF, but they all provide Multiple routing tables Traffic isolation Multi-tenant designs I mean they just wrap it inside firewall virtualization, and not pure routing. Any body wants to tell me what it’s called in Sophos? Juniper? How is it in checkpoint too? Mention them please
