Anyone recommend a book on the history of Afghanistan?

She, on top, would say one line and he'd say the next. Though I've tried, I have never found the video again. I hope they are well and safe.

On the topic of porn: I remember once a video of a Persian couple, filmed in their half-shaded bedroom, sharing a bottle of wine. At some point he made her laugh so hard she had to stop riding. And they recited poetry to one another; stanzas muffled from between her legs.

A clip from the 1997 film DAKAN, one of the first West African films to center homosexuality. More than two decades later, DAKAN remains a landmark of queer cinema and a reminder of the legacy of Black queer storytelling across the diaspora. #Dakan #QueerCinema #AfricanCinema

@boreddeleuzian I guess I found it hard to understand because that just seems so obvious to me? It's why fears of corruption by porn are silly to me for example.

@Agonizes11 Just that...it's not that fetishes accidentally intermix violence into sexuality. It's violence that precedes sexuality, so that it's banal that a violent act is subsequently sexualized and becomes the raw material for pornography.

@Agonizes11 I'm more referring to the fact that discourse about this tends to be like, "oh look, this was a sexual thing!" in sort of a positive light, accompanied with surprise. I find this not surprising at all and if anything it confirms ideas that sexuality is radically about violence.

@adastroworld @oldheaded By "It" I assume both of you mean pornographic image material featuring real performers? It is hard to follow these kinds of discussions on here because people imagine radically different things when they think of 'porn'.

@oldheaded There’s also pretty much no way to moralize against it without negatively affecting the women that are supposed to be protected by the moralizing so it’s always been interesting to be that non-socialists rarely have a “day after” plan, for this

@Ichbins8 Right, this say more about American attitudes to prison sentences in general than anything about European attitudes regarding child abuse.

I just looked it up, for my country at least: The complete reverse is true. There had never been a law against child porn, specifically, until 1975. There only was a general law against pornography, with a maximum sentence of one year.
Total NIMBY Death@BarneyFlames

Everyone points out the weird pro-pedophile movement in Europe during the 60s/70s but the consequences of that period are still around, sentencing for crimes against children is very lenient across Europe/UK.

@LRSerling I don't like the idea that Americans who name their children that way are somehow 'estranged from culture and literature'. These parents have actually take part in their own, American, naming tradition. They do have a culture, it's just not yours.

i would say anything around 5 million dollars is within reach for someone that really, really wanted to do it, and that's what I classify as dummy rich

@adastroworld @amruthapotnuru not me. having a “formula” does not make something easy. the collatz conjecture has a dead simple formula (if even, divide by 2; if odd, 3n+1; repeat): still unsolved
