Anthocyanin pigment accumulation is very common in seedling #sorghum following cold, wet periods. Warm weather and active growth will typically correct the issue. #agriculture

@CBKimbrell Life style creep is a real thing. It is hardwired into our brains as well. We normalize things that change and always seek more.

Ai will likely never fix your air conditioner, plumbing, or electric problems, or even fix those problems at an Ai data center. Jobs may look different, but there will always be jobs for people who want to work.
Peter St Onge, Ph.D.@profstonge

From the newsletter: “The New Jobs After AI” profstonge.com/p/what-are-the… “AI transfers wealth to blue collars and service workers in the short run -- and away from managers and journalists.” “Ironically, in the long run AI and robots actually make our economy far more humanized than the soul-crushing cubicle farms that future generations will look on with pity.”

A crazy whirlwind of travel today that included tomatoes, soybeans, and even this banana disease trial. Never a dull moment in #agriculture. #Florida

@Matt_Stepp817 You are definitely missing a lot to this story. I think they are handling this quietly for his sake.

@CBKimbrell A domestic milling industry would do great things for the US cotton market. It would also provide opportunities for specialization in the type of cotton we produce and develop.

Keep in mind that we use about as much cotton as we produce, it’s just that for the last 30 years, we had to export cotton so that literal slaves or those who were willing to work for wages that would compete with those slaves, would make our cotton into garments that they ship back to us.
Casey Kimbrell@CBKimbrell

I think we’re on the cusp of bringing domestic milling back to the United States. Milling has always been highly labor intensive, but with the advent and improvement of Ai and robotics, I think we now have the technological capabilities to cut out using slave labor for apparel.

This harvest season, one photo tells a profound story. After #HurricaneBeryl's winds, farmers are "deadheading"—harvesting damaged corn in one direction, then returning empty-handed. This method underscores their resilience but also increases the time and cost of their labor.
