Texas and Texas A&M are on opposite sides of the bracket…what are the odds we get those two to face off in a championship series matchup in Omaha 😳 WOULD BE INSANE

@rcb05 You may be right. By 2620, the Houston-Dallas-Austin/SA metroplex will all be 1, The Textroplex (Metroplexas?). Bryan/College Station will be “Downtown Texas” and Kyle Field will be home of the Texas Texans

@RottenApple80 And if you do something when the market is more favorable, you get a better deal on it. Not hard to figure out.

@rcb05 If they paid market rates, they didn't get an absolute bargain. They paid market. Just seems like you're reaching for any kind of win and validation. Part of the problem with the fan base.

The redevelopment of 103,000-seat Kyle Field - which included two entirely new sides of the stadium, a new press box, new video boards, a new exterior and significant upgrades to infrastructure like concourses, restrooms, etc. - cost $485 million in 2014/15. Absolute bargain.

Northwestern’s Ryan Field will officially opens on October 2nd against Penn State. It will hold 35,000 fans and cost approximately $870 million to complete.

@RottenApple80 I feel like we’re splitting hairs here. Pretty sure you you know the intent of my post.

@rcb05 But that's not really the same thing as getting an absolute bargain

@RottenApple80 I know we paid market rates. But raising nearly double the amount of money today would be quite the task. Ended up being very well-timed. I bought my house in 2011 and refinanced in 2021. Just because I paid market rates doesn’t mean I didn’t get a great deal retrospectively.

@rcb05 Do you have details on comparisons of building materials, finishes, utilities, tech stack, etc. between the two? Size is one variable, yes. So are the others. Aggie paid market for their renovations and that in no way should bother you.

@rcb05 Right and considering regional land and construction costs (Chicago > CS) looks like aggie paid market rates after all. Good try though 😉.

@lbk_enjoyer Moving things back wouldn’t have solved any of Kyle Field’s problems. Also, a or easier when this is all your having to move.

@RottenApple80 Looks like adjusted for inflation, Kyle Field renovation would be $711.5 million in today’s prices. (that’s general inflation, not anything construction-specific)

@rcb05 I mean, adjusted for inflation 11 years ago.....seems about right, no? Weird renovation bargain flex.

@lbk_enjoyer Pretty much yeah. At the expense of adding more seats/suites and improving viewing angles.

@lbk_enjoyer It didn’t end up off-center by accident. It was just a choice made to achieve what they deemed more important priorities.

@lbk_enjoyer It’s off center because it merges like three different renovations/additions with different priorities that were never really meant to be connected.

I see these neighborhoods being built in Texas and I’m trying to figure out who in their right mind would buy a mansion with zero lot lines. Like, you could do a handshake through your kitchen window. Insane! Please make it make sense.

@mid_madness To be fair, the term Ivy League was used for decades to describe what was at the time an arbitrary grouping of schools. It became so popular that they kept the name when an athletic conference was later formed.
