@Top100Rick Had similar shot in a tournament last weekend, and in an effort to not hit it in the bunker I just airmailed the green. Bogey on the par 5 after greenside in 2. Elite.

Watch this crazy angle of Scottie Scheffler hitting a difficult pitch. What do you notice? I’ve watched it like 10 times and am now ready to go try this technique. My main takeaways: Face OPEN. Like way more open than I normally would have it. Steep takeaway. Keep it in front. Steep down. Hit the dirt! Don’t be afraid to take a divot on a short pitch. Aim conservatively. He was playing to avoid the big mistake. Lower expectations when out of position. This is a good result.

You hear about list chasers who chase the Top 100 golf courses. But there is a more exclusive list. The Discoveryland collection. The most expensive collection of clubs. Almost zero unaccompanied play allowed. Absolutely incredible experiences. I’ve only seen 9 of these.

You have to have won a tourney in past year, be top 50 on the planet, or have another exemption. He isn’t losing his card, and could easily have skipped tourneys past 3 weeks if he wanted to.

Yes, there’s a number of rounds that ANGC will say no to for me to go by myself and play by myself. That number is prob a little lower for me than a guy like Rory. If you find a member to host you every time, there’s no limit. I had plenty of chances to go to ANGC myself if I wanted to but didn’t go. Better use of my time practicing at home or wherever I am to get my game in better shape for my next tournament. Course knowledge only gets you so far. Plenty of golfers have even more experience at Augusta than Rory like Justin Rose.

@beautifulhands7 @chambleebrandel lol. Most of the field is top 50 in the world. They can most definitely skip 3 weeks. They choose not to in order to have tournament competition leading up to the masters. But, they all are set for next year and could easily skip those events.

Every single professional player who qualified for the Masters could go early and play as many practice rounds as they wish. Just as so many others, including Jack Nicklaus, have done in the past. The only advantage Rory had over the field was his considerable skill.

@KVanValkenburg Not everyone has the same access though. If the Valero winner wasn’t qualified before winning that tournament, he didn’t have access to the course for anywhere close to as long as previous winners.

If someone in your life shares this opinion, please let them know that *every golfer* (not just former Masters winners) has unlimited access to the course in the lead up to the tournament. This is not a thing.
