We don't "capture" humans. If it's a lawful procedure, they are arrested. Otherwise, it's a kidnapping. The word is a propaganda tool used by the US since their operations in Afghanistan and Irak aiming to dehumanize opponents. Using it makes an instrument of this propaganda.

@MonicaLMarks you know better than me that Hamas has nothing to loose. a ceasefire, peace negotiations mean that each party makes a compromise. this is so sad....

@AhlemHC Israel won’t stop bombing Gaza unless Hamas demilitarizes. And the US won’t make it. Getting a ceasefire is the first step towards lifesaving material getting into Gaza, medicine & education coming back, etc.

@MonicaLMarks I didn't hear any of that. Just heard that Israel would pull out of Gaza "gradually". Nothing else. How long is gradually? What happens in the meantime? And they would "come back" if needed. A whole bunch of nothing.

@AhlemHC Getting food and water to Palestinians in Gaza, and stopping Israel’s killing them in droves, are more than enough reason to sign on. Sending kids there back to school. Getting anaesthesia in so people don’t have limbs amputated without numbing medication.

@MonicaLMarks why would they sign on? who's gonna make them? what do Palestinians get in this deal? regardless of Hamas. this is just 2 old whitemen pating each other on the back, flattering a bunch of other irrelevant old men, without an ounce of sense whatsoever.

@AhlemHC Anything that ends civilians’ immediate suffering is a major improvement in my book. What a gigantic disaster the past two years have been. But Hamas hasn’t signed on, and getting them & Israel to abide it even if both are agreed will be a tall order for a feckless US.
