How do I edit client videos fast without staring at the timeline for hours trying to come up with ideas?
The biggest mistake most editors make is opening After Effects before they know what they're going to build.
I start by organizing the raw footage, cutting it, color grading it, and getting everything ready.
Then I move the script into Figma, Miro, or any whiteboard app. I break it into small sections and decide which parts actually need visuals. Not every sentence needs an animation.
For each section, I try to find one simple visual idea. I usually think in metaphors, where one object can communicate the entire message. It's easier to animate, easier to understand, and keeps the video clean.
To develop those ideas, I collect inspiration from Pinterest, combine different references, and add my own touch instead of copying one style.
I repeat this process until every animation is fully planned. Then I go through the script one more time and mark the sections that only need B-roll or on-screen text.
Honestly, this entire planning phase inside Figma/Miro is the most time-consuming part of my workflow, but it's also what saves me the most time later.
Only then do I open After Effects.
At that point, I'm not wasting time thinking. I already have a clear roadmap, so I'm just executing. That alone saves me hours and keeps me focused.
After that, I add the music, sound design, and transitions, which is honestly my favorite part.
I always try to finish early so there's enough time for client revisions without putting the deadline at risk.
Everyone has a different workflow, and that's completely fine.
The goal isn't to copy mine. The goal is to build a system that makes editing smooth, fast, and distraction-free.
Your time is valuable. So is your client's.

I think highlight posts are underrated because they let people appreciate the small creative decisions that often go unnoticed in the full edit. Those little details are usually what make a project feel premium. 👏
Which shot in this project took the most iterations before you were happy with it?

@AhmedGamal_edit The top right frame goes so HARD!!!!🔥🔥🔥

@AhmedGamal_edit your design and colours and on another level man
English

@Atri_9 It can take 10 min for 1 idea then 1 hour for animatibg and design
English

@AhmedGamal_edit Visuals are always on point🔥🔥
Makes me wonder how long it took you to design all of them?

@Vinay_Visuals I hope they come to their senses

@AhmedGamal_edit Real man. Many big editors post same reply on every other post of mine
English

One of the most annoying things on X is the copy-paste comments
People ask ChatGPT for "comments to leave on posts" and then spam the same replies everywhere:
"Fire 🔥"
"Clean 🔥"
"Amazing 🔥🔥"
Half the time they haven't even watched 5 seconds of the video
The problem isn't just that it's lazy You're killing your own persona People stop caring about your opinions because every comment sounds the same. And if you keep spamming, don't be surprised when your reach starts dropping
Comments matter. Engagement matters
But real opinions matter a lot more.
Give feedback. Share your perspective. Help someone improve
That builds a reputation
Spam doesn't

@CreativeSAYN Their point of view is that many comments raise the account’s reach, so they want to make comments quickly, but this has the opposite effect

@AhmedGamal_edit hahaha, didn't realize people also use AI to do this too
