different companies have very different mindsets when hiring for their founding teams. after working closely with engineering and product teams across SF, BLR, NYC and more, one thing i’ve realised is that many young founders are still confused about the roles they’re actually hiring for. sometimes they know they need “an engineer” or “a designer” but don’t fully understand the depth, ownership, taste, or problem solving ability required for that stage of the company. and honestly, that’s normal. early stage hiring is hard because you’re not just hiring for skill, you’re hiring for ambiguity, speed, communication, ownership, and long term alignment. that’s why at rightfit we don’t just work as a hiring partner. a big part of our work is helping founders get clarity around what they actually need, and then helping them find the right people for it. because the best hires usually happen when both the founder and the candidate deeply understand what they’re building together.
