Getting a surprise shoutout on my all-time favourite pod, My First Million, was something else. Massive thanks to @gregisenberg and @thesamparr There’s still plenty of debate about our approach to this market; and that’s fine. As long as we stay true to our mission of empowering people at a time they need it most with the best tools available, others who share that mission will see it too. When we raised our $3.1M pre-seed and $5.3M seed rounds, I was deliberate about our angel allocation. Instead of filling it with whomever would cut a cheque, I curated a bench of world-class operators in disciplines I knew we’d need. These are highly talented, experienced people who each fill a specific gap in the business: 1. Bryce Keane – Comms Bryce is the ex-Head of Comms at Atomico and now leads comms for Sequoia in Europe. He's helped us to tell our story and a big part of the reason we’ve gotten features in TechCrunch and Fortune. 2. Alex Gest – Legal Alex makes sure that I don’t sign my life away or end up in jail - he's helped across both our fundraises and is the Consiglieri of Dex. 3. Lucy Bates – Finance After we secured the bag, Lucy has made sure we don’t lose it As our fractional CFO, she’s helped me to forecast and plan, and to ensure that we’re balancing our ambition and burn. 4. Daphne Dovermann – Ex-Investor Daphne is one of the smartest people I know, and from the very start of Dex she's been an incredibly helpful sparring partner, she’s helped me think through our raises and strategic moves. 5. Luke Harries – Growth Luke has been an invaluable source of guidance and advice on this journey when it comes to Growth, but also more broadly about the founder journey. These are just a few of the gang who, together, have been an incredible force multiple as we’ve built Dex. Grateful to have each one of them in our corner.
