@eaislingt @gracepower @AilishCD @Irish_Ferries We were in the (un)sweet spot that we didn't have to leave until c9.15 to comfortably make the scheduled time, so felt comfortable waiting for them to confirm the length of the delay at 9am. And then sucker punched at 9.05am. Appalling management.

@AilishCD @gracepower @Irish_Ferries Just awful. And no offer of any further help either. We were told to put the boot down to get there but I won’t put our lives in danger, so we’ll likely miss it. Doing this for years and it’s the first time it’s gone wrong but it’s gone very wrong!

@AilishCD @gracepower @Irish_Ferries I hope you both make it. We’re set to arrive at 1.19 so I think it’s unlikely. Really bad that they’re letting this happen to so many people. It will be 13 hours before another ferry leaves. Very defeating when we’ve all done everything right.

@eaislingt @Irish_Ferries This is now going at 130pm. We've been told to check in at 12.30. We are due just after that and have rung them but unfortunately customer service is very poor. They told us if that's what you've been told you need to be there.

@GMB Our son passed his test in the Summer and we already have this rule in place no passengers except family for 6 months to be reviewed based on his driving skills.

New drivers, under the age of 21 should be banned from carrying passengers of a similar age for six months after passing their test. That's the suggestion being put forward today by the AA, which claims the idea could prevent more than 50 deaths and 900 serious injuries on our roads each year. Gargy Patel reports.

Self checkouts need to be scrapped. Nobody wants them and they’re impersonal and not much quicker. Good to see @Morrisons realising this. I’ve never met anyone who prefers them and I’ve worked in supermarket. What’s your view?

Rightly a lot of the focus on Sunak responsibility for coming back from D-Day earlier but who on earth was with him? Did none of his team, none of them, say “hold on a minute, you just cannot do this.” Where was his personal snapper or his bag carrier or his “best pal” James Forsyth? I know it would be beyond their responsibility but I am surprised the police protection team didn’t step in. There is no way in the world TB would ever have done this but if he had I am pretty sure one of our coppers would have taken me to one side and said “for fuck’s sake he is not really cutting this short to do a telly interview is he, just as half the world’s leaders pitch up?” labour must fight against complacency the end but even I think he might be done.
