Fast everywhere… except on the green? According to Korn Ferry Tour pace-of-play data, not a single player fit that profile. 0 out of 147 players were among the fastest 25% off the tee, on approach, and around the green—but in the slowest 25% on the greens. The data suggests something simple: players don’t suddenly become slow once they reach the putting green. Fast players tend to stay fast throughout the hole. Roll distance isn’t a guess. It’s physics. The amount a ball rolls uphill or downhill changes dramatically with green speed and slope. In other words, this dataset provides no evidence that a specific putting routine causes otherwise fast players to slow down. If putting routines were the primary cause of slow play, you’d expect otherwise fast players to become slow only once they reached the green. That’s not what the data shows. The evidence suggests pace of play is primarily a player habit, not a putting habit.

@BoBromhal @rr74cm @TFel922 He used almost all of the processes which slow you down, looking from the far side of the hole, checking a green book, lining up the ball, practice strokes and backing off. AimPoint removes two of them completely and reduces the likelyhood of backing off significantly.

Holy shit this is unbearable… 1:20+ to line up an 8-footer and still miss nearly a foot low. I feel for his playing partners, you can see them squirming/waiting. I think the kids say… #shrink

@TFel922 If you deduct the time he spends cleaning his line, it looks like a pretty standard read on tour, taking over 60 seconds. Looking at his green book certainly didn’t help things.

@TylerPitt54 I wouldn’t even know where to start in order to explain how uneducated this comment is, so I won’t bother.

@AimPointGolf It is a "plumb bob" method just advertised as math and physics and whatever else. If you were taught how to plumb properly in the good old days, the same read will be produced via AimPoint, just nowhere near as technical.

May 1, 2005 AimPoint first aired on CBS. Three years after, Golf Channel won an Emmy for it. 21 years later now and 90% of golf commentators haven’t taken the time to understand it and still compare it to a plumb bob.
