So, it’s that time again. In anticipation of a weekend sojourn to the 716, I’m going to assume some wings will be consumed. Therefore, I must refresh this and prepare to enforce them since many consumers will be first timers 8 Rules for Wings 1- There are no such thing as Buffalo Wings. Google it, or read a book. Buffalo (actually Bison) are a large land mammal- they can’t fly. Wings. Or chicken wings, if you are being formal. Buffalo Wild Wings is like some kind of plane of hell for real Western NYers and wing aficionados. Going there and feeling like you just had good wings is like going to Pizza Hut and thinking you just had good pizza 2- They come in hot, medium or mild. That’s it. 3- Hot sauce, preferably Frank’s, and butter. That’s it. Anything besides Franks is JV. 4- We can never become so civilized that we stop judging a man by his ability to clean a wing in one bite. This isn’t SOP for every wing, but you have to have it in your back pocket. Chicks dig it. 5- If you must accessorize, it’s celery and bleu cheese. Ranch is peasant food, like ketchup. If you are over ten and you like ranch, grow up. And if you order carrots and celery, you might as well order the salad. 6- Boneless wings are an abomination. I’ve seen chickens. Their wings have bones. Just so you know. 7- If you have never been to Western New York, you have most likely have never had good wings. Don’t argue with me. Don’t tell me your friend’s uncle at the Rusty Nail Saloon makes good wings. He doesn’t. You are wrong. 8- Wash them down with a Labatts or Molson product. If you are keeping it classy, go Genny Cream Ale. Youngsters in the group- it is pop (not soda) or loganberry. Carry on
