God is love. That means He holds the highest interests of EVERY creature at the center of His very nature. Eternal conscious torment directly contradicts His nature and is incompatible with Who He is. Therefore, those who teach of this "hell", do not have the love of God in them.

A local non-denominational megachurch held an Easter Service on Friday.
They held Easter on Good Friday.
That's not how this works.
I understand not being liturgical but to basically erase Good Friday is certainly an interesting theologically decision.

It is baffling to me why so many who profess their the name of Jesus and insist he is God despite all the scriptural evidence that he is not God. How can so many Christians totally ignore John 1:18? “No one has seen God at any time.”

In the New Testament, the word 'God' appears in nearly 1300 passages. Not one of them necessarily implies the existence of more than one person in the “Godhead”, or suggests that this one God is anyone other than the Father alone. There are more than 300 passages in which, either directly or by implication, the Son is said be subordinate to the Father. These show that he derives his being from the Father, receives his divine power from the Father, and acts only in accord with the Father’s will.

If you believe Jesus is God, Wendell, you can’t possibly believe what is written in John 1:18 - “No one has seen God at any time.” Jesus was seen by a plethora of people, both during his earthly ministry and after his resurrection before his ascension. More importantly, to your detriment, you can’t possibly believe in the death of Christ for our sins. God is immortal and, hence, cannot die.
