Wildfires have moved from a seasonal concern to one of the most visible and destructive threats to our society and the environment and, by direct consequence, also to our collective security. They ignore private property lines, state borders, and international boundaries. Our ambition is to further develop a European wildfire ecosystem of solutions designed to support stakeholders in their fight against this destructive force, securing people, critical infrastructure, biodiversity, CO₂ emissions, and costs arising from wildfires. May we present? This is the Valkyrie. Airbus is working at full throttle to offer the German Air Force an operational Uncrewed Collaborative Combat Aircraft (UCCA) system by 2029. In Manching, near Munich, the company is currently preparing the first two Valkyries it acquired from its US partner Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. with a sovereign European mission system, the Multiplatform Autonomous Reconfigurable and Secure (MARS) system, for their maiden flight. MARS also contains an AI-supported software brain called MindShare which not only replaces the missing pilot, but is also capable of coordinating entire mission groups by being distributed across many manned and uncrewed platforms. Belgian and Luxembourg air forces have jointly operated the Airbus #A400M since October 2020 when the first aircraft arrived at Melsbroek Air Base, Brussels. From the heart of Europe, the A400M transports troops, carries outsized cargo and drops material in multiple missions across the globe. The ORION 26 military exercise just kicked off! #ORION26 prepares the French Armed Forces for high-intensity warfare in a multi-domain environment alongside allies in line with NATO standards. Airbus Defence and Space and Airbus Helicopters are contributing in this large-scale exercise with the broad range of its military portfolio, including the A400M,  A330 MRTT, NH90, H225M, UAVs, as well as digital defence services, military satellites and cyber solutions.

In case you missed it, the global #Eurofighter fleet has surpassed 1 million flight hours. Being a true European programme, we’re continuously evolving the Eurofighter to serve air forces worldwide now and for decades to come. To ensure mission success in hostile environments, Airbus has integrated, for the first time, the DIRCM (Directed Infrared Countermeasures) system into an #A400M within the @EjercitoAire fleet. This electronic self-protection solution, developed by @IndraCompany and known as InShield, is specifically designed to protect the aircraft against infrared-guided missiles. The @EjercitoAire will conduct an operational evaluation of the DIRCM in the coming months to assess the solution's performance and the possibility of integrating it across the rest of the fleet. This is a wholly indigenous system, representing a technological milestone of great significance for the country’s strategic autonomy.

The A400M is taking centre stage at the World Defense Show in Saudi Arabia where Airbus is demonstrating its unique capabilities to defence industry partners and customers. The airlifter's ability use austere air facilities is crucial in addressing current global challenges. The A400M's low-level flight capability often complements its ability to land on unprepared strips. This allows reaching remote locations for personnel extraction and transporting goods, thereby strengthening transport capabilities on unpaved runways.

The World Defence Show has started in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and Airbus is exhibiting a wide range of innovative technologies, products and services from its air power, space and helicopters portfolio. The 52nd #A400M has been delivered to the German Air Force! This military transporter is a true powerhouse, boasting 44,000 hp from its four turboprop engines. With a top speed of up to 750 km/h, the A400M has a maximum range of over 8,700 km. At full payload of 37 tonnes, it can cover more than 3,300 km, and even take off and land on unpaved runways.
