We were very sorry to hear that our good friend Alison McGoff passed away at Celtic Park last Saturday. Alison was a stalwart of the independence movement and regularly attended our events in Airdrie. She will be sadly missed by us all,and we extend our condolences to her family.

@STUforIndy If you think that the case then you haven't read Labour policies, or the economic analysis of independence.

Trade Unionists for Scottish Independence
In people's desperation to rid themselves of the Tories, the "any port in a storm" rule comes into play. Don't be seduced by their vague promises, the real devil is in the detail. In reality, Labour offer nothing for Scotland but a gap between Tory governments. #independence

"As You Point Out" "McKenna and most Scottish journalists write only for the colonizer’s media. They do not yet recognise far less understand colonialism, which explains why they are unable to produce an anti-colonial literature." Prof Alfred Baird wp.me/p4fd9j-u0Q

Did you know? The world’s most taxed drink is Scotch Whisky - created by Scotland with all profits to the UK [English] Treasury.

In an independent Scotland, @scotgov would seek to rejoin the EU as soon as possible, allowing Scottish citizens to: 🔵 Take up in full their rights as EU citizens. 🔵 Take advantage of free movement to travel, live, work and study across Europe. More: bit.ly/EUCitizenshipS…

In 2014, we were told that Scotlands oil was running out. Today, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak came to Scotland to brazenly announce the next phase in the centuries old theft of Scottish resources. England will never let Scotland go willingly, so long as we have what they need.

The only way is Independence 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
The Unionist view in Ayr: A disgruntled pensioner is grimacing & shaking her head at us in the High Street. She is hunched over, not happy & walking with a stick. "C'mon, it'll be OK, don't you want a bigger pension?" “No!!!" she screams back. It seems she enjoys the misery!

@MikeStewart79 @Carson1916 Possibly more significant in this sector are energy costs, rising food prices, cost of broadcasting live sports, cost and availability of staff after Brexit, in addition to the fact their customers are suffering the same challenges and have themselves less less money to spare.

@Carson1916 Yup. But the tax can be dropped. That drop creates more footfall……

I was £11.50 for a pint and a single vodka and Diet Coke with our lunch today. It cost roughly the same as my main meal. We don’t eat out during the day often, but easy to see why the trade is dying on its feet. Clearly this isn’t unique to Scotland, but we should be doing everything we can to keep prices down. Whilst I reject the premise behind minimum pricing, I do think that there could be something in place to make it more attractive. Lower taxation in a licence premise, perhaps ? There aren’t many down and outs that kill themselves in a pub, but a pub is a community, a place to go. The church for many and a strong tool in our battles with mental health. Just a thought.
