@AutumnK2022 I've started a routine of writing on the bus in to work, and it's going great! 45 minutes every morning, a little goes a long way when it's consistent. For plot stuff it's usually whenever inspiration strikes - watching TV, in bed, or out walking

@KRSWriting Consistent engagement, my fatal flaw 😂 But yes that sounds like a good tip, thank you!

@AjRanstead The recommendations I’ve been getting the most is consistent engagement. Although I think it’s 50/50 if it works 😂

How does one make new friends on the bird app? A 23, y/o fantasy writer who is asking for a friend… literally. 🥺 #WritingCommunity

Do you ever feel like your never going to get there in writing a query? 😢 I've never quite captured everything the way I want and I'm starting to think I never will.

@belindamgrant I'm currently editing my query every time I query an agent, and I still trick myself into thinking that each version will be the perfect one😅I'm about fifteen edits deep right now; I know the feeling.

In 2023 I am embracing a "typos happen" mentality. No point in trying to fight it. There's only so much caffeine in the world. Thumbs deserve to run free. Brought to you by MSWL thread that STARTS with a typo 🥴

no writer has all five: 1. unoccupied space on their bookshelves 2. a WIP they will let people read 3. sanity 4. a body that’s fully rested + hydrated 5. a firm grasp on reality

I think the advice to start a book with "action" isn't exactly what that means. I see a lot of people who try to start their stories with "action"--running, chasing, fighting, etc. but really in any of these situations it's hard to feel grounded and really know what's going on...

Bethany Averie ~ Querying YA Fantasy
@AjRanstead You're welcome! For those who aren't acquiring agents or editors, if you think someone has a fun/good/interesting/want to read pitch, then you can usually (depending on pitch event rules) ReTweet it for them. :-)

@AlishaSehWrites Hi Alisha! I'm currently pitching my #YA #fantasy novel 'Shield of Dawn'. Rebellious Princess Evelyn seeks to escape her future of imprisonment by entering the Dawn Trials. However, a deadly prophecy, a desperate princess, and a controlling Grandmother seek to unravel her plans.

@byMorganWright Lol, I'm only kinda concerned that everything I write is just a window into my soul😅If someone reads my book, they can probably read me like, well, a book.

@TRHamby1 Fast-paced, character-driven fantasy for sure. I love worldbuilding and exploration as long as it keeps me engaged😁

I posted the other day about nudging on fulls/partials and there was a lot of discussion about why an author should do that and I think the deeper discussion here is to talk about time and how time works in publishing… a 🧵
