Unfortunately Thursday night after training while on my way to pick up my best mate I was crashed into by a lorry on the M1!!! It was honestly one of the scariest moments of my life especially since at one point I was sideways being pushed by said lorry!!! #carcrash #caraccident

The bar is heavy enough I don’t think adding the friction of your shins is helpful at all Of all my lifting and all my coaching I’ve never personally bloodied my shins or seen my athletes do it either I’d argue they’re may be 2 competing strategies, one is trying to pull the bar up and the other is pushing the bar off the ground I think they wear them bc if it does happen there’s no blood on the bar

Genuinely curious How does someone bloody their shins from deadlifts? Is it normal? Or sign of a needed adjustment? 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

@StrengthDebates It mainly happens to people like myself that deadlift with a wide stance as I actually stand on the knurling so so I scrapes up the shins causing the cuts
