This is very unfortunate and a sad story of poor cancer patients & very inhuman. Sami you are the only one highlighting the problems of poor afghans suffering due to the policies of Kabul and Islamabad. Otherwise majority of the Afghans living in Europe, Australia and America are encouraging the Taliban militia to continue with their anti Pakistan policy, they are praising the TTP and showing satisfaction when the terrorists kill people in Pakhtunkhwa. We request the govt of Pakistan to allow these cancer pts avail medical attention on humanitarian grounds. And also urge the Taliban (Islamic) Emirate to stop sending terrorists, raising terrorists, keeping terrorists leaders killing innocent Pakistanis across the border in Pakhtunkhwa. It's a fact Afghans are the enemy of Afghans.

Great advice but how would she complete forms and official documents in the UK, where ethnicity options are usually fixed? She would likely have to choose something like ‘British Pakistani.’ Alternatively, is the Afghan government willing to issue IDs to all Pashtuns from Pakistan??

@ainajkhan Well- balanced answer Aina. We live in a mixed society here in London and even I have different mindset now after many years. If I can call myself Pakistani or British why can’t I call myself a Pashtun. Which is my true identity.

Daud roor, if Pashtuns in Pakistan use "Pakistani" as an identity marker, that's their decision. I use it as a shorthand for international audiences to recognise my heritage(s), but really, I feel more a Londoner because of the mixed communities I grew up with, and more Pashtun.

کیا سی ایس ایس کا امتحانی نظام درست ہے؟ سی ایس ایس کا رزلٹ آ چکا ہے اور کبھی یہ بحث کی جاتی ہے کہ 2% بچے کیوں پاس ہوتے ہیں، کیا پاکستان کا تعلیمی نظام خراب ہے لیکن کوئی بھی اس امتحانی نظام کی طرف نہیں دیکھتا جس کی بنیاد ہی نا انصافی پر مبنی ہے۔ کیسے؟ زرا تفصیل سے بتاتے ہیں۔ یہ سال 2026 کا پاکستان سٹڈی کا پیپر ہے، یہ صرف بطور مثال ہے، ہر پرچہ اسی طرح کا ہوتا ہے۔ 20 سال معروضی ہوتے ہیں، چار میں ایک آپشن لینا پڑتا ہے، اس پر کوئی اعتراض نہیں لیکن 80 نمبروں والا یہ پیپر دنیا کا سب سے بڑا دھوکہ ہوتا ہے۔ سوالوں پر غور کریں، مختصر کرکے لکھتا ہوں۔ 1۔ جناح کی سیاست اور اقبال کے فلسفے میں کیا چیز مشترکہ ہے اور کیا مختلف 2۔ افغانستان میں امن نا ہونے کا پاکستان پر کیا اثر پڑتا ہے۔ 3۔ 27 ویں ترمیم کے فائدے نقصان 4۔ سوشل میڈیا کیسے سول ملٹری ریلیشنز پر اثر کرتا ہے 5۔ پاکستان کے معاشی مسائل پر لکھیں 6۔ اقوام متحدہ کیوں کشمیر پر ناکام ہے 7۔ 18 ویں ترمیم کا تعلیم اور صحت پر کیا فرق پڑا آپ یہ سوال پڑھیں۔ بیشک آپ سی ایس ایس کے امتحان نہیں دے رہے لیکن آپ بھی انکے جواب دے سکتے ہیں۔ اس میں کوئی ٹیکنیکل علم نہیں۔ کوئی آپ کی معلومات کا پیمانہ نہیں۔ آپ نے ہر سوال پر چار سے پانچ صفحے بھرنے ہیں ٹوٹل 20 سے 25 صفحے ہر بندا بھر دیتا ہے۔ یہ سوال ایسے ہیں کہ آپ کسی تھڑے پر بیٹھے ان پڑھ سے بھی پوچھ سکتے ہیں کہ افغانستان میں امن نا ہونے سے پاکستان پر کیا اثر پڑے گا، وہ بھی کافی نقطے بتا دے گا۔ اصلی کھیل یہاں شروع ہوتا ہے! پیپر چیک کون کرتا ہے؟ یہاں پر آپ کا نصیب اور قسمت آپ کا فیصلہ کرتی ہے۔ کہیں ایسا تو نہیں کہ چیک کرنے والا سیاسی طور پر مخصوص گروہ سے تعلق رکھتا ہے، آپ 27 ویں کے فائدے لکھیں گے اور وہ آپ کو فیل کرے گا۔ کہیں چیک کرنے والا افغان قوم پرست تو نہیں جو آپ کے سخت جواب پر آپکو فیل کردے کہیں چیک کرنے والا لبرل تو نہیں جو اقبال کے فلسفے سے نفرت کرتا ہے اور آپ کے جواب کو فیل کردے۔ اصلی مسلہ یہاں چھپا ہے۔ ان سوالوں کا جواب آپ سب دے سکتے ہیں لیکن آپ کے جواب درست بھی ہوں پھر بھی پیپر دیکھنے والے کے ہاتھ میں سب کچھ ہے۔ فرض کیا وہ آپ کے ساتھ نا انصافی کردیتا ہے، تو آپ اسکو درست بھی نہیں کروا سکتے کیونکہ قانون ہے کہ جو نمبر لگ گئے، وہ لگ گئے۔ آپ صرف کاونٹنگ میں غلطی نکال سکتے ہو۔ یہ کیسا امتحانی نظام ہوا؟ کوئی standard طریقہ نہیں۔ چیکر اگر بیگم سے لڑا ہے تو دس پیپر ایک لائن میں فیل۔ چیکر خوش بیٹھا ہے تو 70، 70 نمبر بھی آئیں گے۔ یہ سارا قسمت نصیب کا پیپر ہے، اسکا میرٹ یا آپ کی قابلیت سے کوئی تعلق نہیں ہوتا۔ لہذا اگر آواز اٹھانی ہے تو حکومت سے گزارش کریں کہ کوئی سٹینڈرڈائزڈ قسم کے پرچے بنائیں اور کوئی سٹینڈرڈائز پیپر چیکنگ کا نظام بنائیں۔ یہ لاٹری کا سسٹم ہے، جس کی لگ گئی وہ جیت گیا۔

Same for my Nana Abu. Pakistan needs to introduce compulsory languages in schools. English, Urdu, and Punjabi, Pashto, Sindhi, Balochi in schools. Students should learn these till Matric, at least. In 6th grade, it must be mandatory to choose one from Farsi, Arabic, or Turkish.

Under international law, protected civilian places lose their protected status if they are used for military purposes such as weapons storage, militant training, or operational support. If Taliban regime is deliberately placibg military infrastructure inside civilian areas, they may themselves be committing a war crime by using civilians and protected locations as shields from attack. In such cases, legal responsibility shifts to the authorities or groups that militarized the area. Similarly, the Geneva Conventions protect hospitals and medical facilities must be marked clearly, identified to be only for humanitarian and medical purposes. These facilities must remain separate from military activities. If a medical or civilian facility is used for military operations, its protected status can be undermined. Therefore, when civilian areas or protected facilities are used for storing weapons, training fighters, or supporting military operations, responsibility for exposing civilians to danger primarily rests on those who turned civilian spaces into military sites.

I would like to seek advice regarding a family matter. My brother married a non-Muslim woman who accepted Islam before their marriage. However, both of them are currently not practicing Islam properly and openly live in ways that go against Islamic teachings. As a family, we are struggling to balance maintaining family ties with staying true to our Islamic values. We do not want to cut ties with them, but at the same time we feel uncomfortable normalizing or appearing to approve of certain actions and lifestyles. How can we deal with them in a kind and wise way while still protecting our deen and boundaries as Muslims? #Anonymous
