I don't know how old you are, brother, but as a father, I certainly would not want my children to grow up and someday discover that their father was incapable of contributing rationally to intellectual conversations. You owe your children better than this. You can do far better than reducing yourself to a common troll. Please, be better. We are all counting on you. Now, kindly read the article again and see if you can come up with an educated argument.

WHY YOU SHOULD HOLD YOUR GOVERNORS ACCOUNTABLE Under the current constitutionally approved Vertical Revenue Allocation Formula (VRAF) used by the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), federally collected revenues are shared as follows: Federal Government: 52.68% State Governments: 26.72% Local Governments: 20.60% IN PRACTICAL TERMS: For every ₦100 that enters the Federation Account: Federal Government receives: ₦52.68 All 36 States collectively receive: ₦26.72 All 774 Local Governments collectively receive: ₦20.60 When you combine the fortunes of the states and local governments, the subnational authorities collectively control a staggering treasury: States: 26.72% Local Governments: 20.60% Combined subnational share: 47.32% This is only marginally lesser than the lion's share of the Federal Government, which sits at 52.68%. If this national enterprise were a private corporation, do you honestly believe partners who jointly pocket 47.32% of the company's profit should not also share 47.32% of the burdens, responsibilities and losses? So when we say hold your Governors and Local Government Chairmen accountable, this is what we mean. It is not propaganda. It is not partisanship. It is not an attempt to absolve the Federal Government of its obligations. It is an educated, informed and enlightened demand driven by civic literacy. IT DOES NOT END THERE FOLKS: When you look closer, the plot thickens. The FAAC allocations are not woven from statutory revenue alone. When other financial streams flow into the mix, it makes the share going to subnational governments far more handsome than the constitution contemplated, while systematically shrinking the Federal Government's slice of the pie. You must cast your eyes on the Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue - which under the latest tax reforms heavily favors the states over the central government - alongside electronic money transfer levies, and the lucrative 13% derivation fund reserved for oil-producing states. The subnationals are swimming in deeper waters than you think. SPECIFIC EXAMPLE: In the month of May, 2026 alone, actual FAAC disbursement stood at N2.3trillion: Federal: N818.68 Billion (35.6%) State: N759.14 Billion (33.0%) LG: N534.28 Billion (23.2%) Derivation Fund: N188.13 Billion (8.2%) Look at the numbers closely. The federal monopoly is dissolving. The Federal Government's actual share was only 35.6%, while States, Local Governments and Derivation Funds collectively controlled a whopping 64.4%. In simple English, nearly two-thirds of the national cake ended up outside Abuja. What was it that was said in Spiderman again? "With great powers come greater responsibilities." The States are swallowing far larger resources than they ever did under previous administrations; it is only a matter of basic logic that they must shoulder far greater responsibilities than they ever have. It's common sense. You cannot collect more money and claim less responsibility. You cannot demand the harvest while refusing to account for the seeds. And you cannot keep looking towards Abuja when most of the money has already left Abuja. Accountability, like charity, begins at home. Hope I made sense? Good Evening Severally.

Younger Nigerians are beginning to look beyond emotions and make their own conclusions. In 2023, many young Nigerians, including myself, were influenced by the energy, emotions and spillover from the EndSARS protest and chose to support Peter Obi. However, the last three years have provided enough time to assess his political record and also observe the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. With time, Nigerians have had the opportunity to examine past performances, policies, and leadership styles beyond campaign promises. No right thinking human will look into Peter Obi’s administration as Governor and wish him for President of a country like Nigeria.

Dear Nigerians, hold your state governors accountable. Look at the increased monthly allocations your states have been receiving since the removal of fuel subsidy. The federal government has released more funds to the states. Ask your governors how these resources are being used and what impact they are making. The responsibility of governance is shared. Your state government also plays a major role in your daily reality.

simple question for those who say President Tinubu has failed: 🤔🇳🇬 If Nigeria's economy is truly moving backward, as some claim, why are government revenues increasing? Why are states receiving higher FAAC allocations? Why are foreign reserves improving? Why are investors showing renewed interest in our country? I am not saying everything is perfect. Nigerians still face serious economic challenges every day, and those concerns are real. However, is it fair to ignore every sign of progress simply because you disagree with President Tinubu? Or is the real issue not the reforms themselves, but the person implementing them? Let us debate with facts, not emotions. If you believe President Tinubu has failed, what evidence convinces you the most? And if you believe he has succeeded, what achievement stands out to you? The comment section is open. 🔥👇🇳🇬 — AKINWUMI Voluntary Special Adviser to the President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR Flag Bearer of the Greatest Party in Africa, the APC President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 2027 In Shaa Allah 🇳🇬

Shut up. Your dumb messiah never left “hundreds of millions of millions of dollars”for his successor. He left just N9 billion cash with some cheques already issued without the knowledge of his successor. These facts are in the public but you followers don’t care to know.

“and forced to engage the public at every turn.” Please who force Peter Obi? I feel this unsolicited question and post should be directed at the Obidients. I am sure Peter Obi keeps disappointing you daily. 🤣🤣🤣
Ochi@OchiJnr

As a Nigerian, I find it absurd that since 2022, Peter Obi has been the only major front-runner relentlessly grilled, constantly interviewed, and forced to engage the public at every turn. Meanwhile, Atiku and Tinubu seem to glide by without facing anything close to the same scrutiny. What exactly is going on here? Do they believe they are too important to be questioned, or are their supporters simply more comfortable shielding them from accountability and public scrutiny? Nobody hears from the president, who sits on high Mount Olympus and only graces Nigerians with carefully scripted appearances and distant press statements from Bayo Onanuga, as though leadership is a privilege to be admired from afar rather than a responsibility to be constantly examined. Atiku is no different, equally distant, equally insulated, and just as unwilling to submit himself to the kind of sustained, unscripted engagement that true leadership demands. My Prime Minister, Carney, faces the press almost daily and endures relentless grilling from the opposition in Parliament on virtually every issue. That is what accountability looks like in a functioning democracy. Tinubu, on the other hand, answers to no one. #NigeriaWillBeOK
