So….this arrived this morning. Advance copies of my forthcoming book. Three years’ worth of work has gone into it. I’d been told it’s a big moment for author hold the finished product in one’s hand for the first time…and I can now concur. Huge. Right now, I feel a sense of relief as much as anything. The book is about the 18-year economic/real estate/financial cycle. I take readers on a journey through it, providing analysis and guidance on what they should do at each stage. I wrote it to be “an investment guide to the future”. Copies can be pre-ordered - see links here Linktr.ee/akhilgpatel

A proposed Trump-branded tower was announced last month to be built on the Gold Coast - the tallest building in Australia. That's not a bullish signal. That's a sell signal. A thread.👇🏼

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent was abruptly pulled from a live interview after being told “the President wants you right away.” After returning, his voice was noticeably shaken.

@handre Actually the Roman world was wracked by periodic financial crises caused by excess credit creation by private lenders for (usually) property speculation.

The Roman Republic thrived for centuries with private bankers handling money, credit, and international exchange—no central bank in sight. These argentarii operated competitive markets, took real risks with their own capital, and somehow managed to finance massive trade networks across the Mediterranean without a single PhD economist or monetary policy committee. But here's what really stings: Rome's banking system worked better than anything we've seen since governments decided they knew better. And the moment Rome started debasing currency and centralizing financial control? The whole thing collapsed into the imperial nightmare we know today. Coincidence? The state's first instinct is always to destroy what works and replace it with bureaucratic incompetence dressed up as expertise.

Markets moved before the weekend headlines hit. With Middle East tensions escalating, oil risk is back in focus. The Oakleigh 18.6 Strategic Investment Portfolio initiated a position in BetaShares Global Energy Companies ETF (FUEL). • 15 Jan ~ $7.10 • Added 3 Feb ~ $7.40 • Now ~ $8.20 As is often the case, markets began pricing rising geopolitical risk weeks ago. Late-cycle conditions tend to favour energy, real assets and inflation-sensitive sectors. What if you could see the next market crash coming? For 200+ years, property, land, and credit have followed an 18-year cycle, for example: 1890s boom → 1907 panic 1920s euphoria → 1929 crash 2000s housing bubble → 2008 collapse The pattern is remarkably consistent. Yet most economists still call crashes "unpredictable." We're currently in year 17 of the current cycle. My book, The Secret Wealth Advantage, explains what happens next — and what you need to do to be ready for it. See the full pattern: thesecretwealthadvantage.com

So which is it this time @realDonaldTrump? A lack of negotiation skill? Or deploying a card in advance of an important election? Or maybe it is something else entirely...distractions from what might still lurk in a set of particularly sordid files?

What if market turning points are more predictable than they appear? Across history, property, land, and credit have moved in a recurring rhythm that most only recognise in hindsight. The Secret Wealth Advantage explains the 18-year real estate cycle and why timing within the cycle matters. See the bigger picture: thesecretwealthadvantage.com

The average super fund returned 10-13% in 2025. Oakleigh's 18.6 Strategic Investment Portfolio returned 46%. That's not a small difference. That's a different investment philosophy. One that understands where we are in the Real Estate Banking Cycle - and positions accordingly.
