An Iraqi security officer kills a Syrian citizen after the officer refused to pay the bill 🇮🇶/🇸🇾 A Syrian youth named Ali Sammour -علي سامور, a native of Al-Nasiriyah village in Eastern Qalamoun, was shot and killed in Baghdad while performing his duties as a generator technician in the Al-Dora neighborhood (Al-Mechanic area). According to local reports, the incident occurred when Sammour was dispatched by his employer to disconnect the electricity service of a subscriber due to non-payment. The subscriber, identified as Qasim Al-Ardawi - قاسم العرداوي, a member of the Iraqi Internal Security Forces residing in the area, reportedly opened fire on Sammour, killing him instantly in cold blood. Sammour, who had moved to Baghdad less than a year ago for work, leaves behind a wife and young children who were waiting for him. Family and community members are calling for justice and demanding that the perpetrator be held accountable for the crime.

The 9th General arrested this month is said to be Major General Ali Younes, former commander of the Military Intelligence Directorate's Officers Head (Section 293).
Few photos of him are available and the one circulating widely on the right actually shows another General, Jamal Younes - he fled to Russia

The high number of Generals arrested this month reflects the fact that the security situation has stabilized & new instructions were given.
Many of those detained previously settled their status after Assad's fall.
Settling status didn't exempt them from accountability for war crimes.
More high-profile arrests will follow.

After the 20th Air Division, which obliterated the South, the leadership of the 22nd Air Division, responsible for the destruction of central & NW. Syria, has been captured. Its Chief of Staff and Deputy were arrested by the Security forces. This brings the total number of Generals arrested this month to 8 - unprecedented since Regime fall.

Abdulkhaleq Abdulla, a Dubai-based political scientist who is widely seen as a bellwether for official Emirati thinking, called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “a war criminal and the killer of Gaza’s children” on Wednesday, echoing a formal UAE Foreign Ministry denial that Netanyahu ever set foot in the country.
“There is no welcome whatsoever for a war criminal on the pure soil of the Emirates,” Abdulla wrote, calling Netanyahu’s claim of having visited the UAE “a fabrication from his sick imagination” and describing him as “a prolific liar who released this lie to serve opportunistic electoral purposes.”
The remarks are striking coming from a figure closely aligned with the UAE government, and in a country that normalized relations with Israel under the 2020 Abraham Accords.

The Sufi missionaries who Islamised Anatolia, Africa, India, and Southeast Asia understood something important that Salafis in the West never did:
people do not, in the first instance, come to a religion because it is logically defensible or ritually correct. They come because it is alive, because it offers them something they cannot find elsewhere.
The great da'is of history were artists, poets, musicians, healers, and above all human beings of conspicuous moral and spiritual depth.
The tradition they transmitted possesses that depth in abundance. The question is whether the gatekeepers of its public face in the West will allow it to breathe.
