@alabamapower we’ve been without power since 9am. Any reason that it’s still out at 3:30pm and there’s not even a timetable for repair??

What a difference 24 hours can make.
Over the weekend, much of Alabama felt like spring. Today, crews worked through freezing temperatures, sleet, rain and everything in between while continuing restoration after last night’s storms.

It’s been a long day across the state, and progress continues as teams worked in some tough conditions and in areas that take extra time to reach safely.
We know outages are frustrating, especially when the weather keeps changing, and we appreciate your patience as crews work to get everyone back on.

Our goal remains to restore service to everyone who can safely take power tonight, and crews will continue working until that work is done.

We know many families are ready to have things back to normal, and our teams are working around the clock to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. As of 4 p.m., we’ve restored power to roughly 88% of the 33,000 customers affected by the storms. Crews are continuing restoration work across Alabama this afternoon as conditions remain cold and wet in some areas. Even after the storms moved out, changing temperatures and difficult terrain can slow progress, especially in locations that take extra time to reach safely. Weather permitting, our goal remains to have everyone who can take service restored by midnight tonight. Please continue to stay clear of downed power lines and be mindful of slick roads and cold conditions. For the latest updates, visit outagemap.alabamapower.com
