ICYMI yesterday: @GovernorKayIvey signed SB 71 into law, against the wishes of thousands of Alabamians. While this bill is very harmful, ARA and all of our partners across the state will continue our work to protect Alabama’s water, air, and land. #DefendRivers

Unfortunately, we just heard that the Governor signed SB 71. Rest assured this is not the end of this fight for our rivers. #DefendRivers

HERE'S OUR LAST SHOT. Please take one more moment and tell Governor Kay Ivey to fix SB 71 before it is law! Despite enormous opposition from Alabamians across the political spectrum, the Alabama Legislature passed SB 71 yesterday. alabamarivers.salsalabs.org/sb71-ivey/

@ConsideratePer1 Yes! From Alabama Reflector: The bill passed 68-34. Five Republicans — Reps. Jennifer Fidler, R-Silverhill; Bob Fincher, R-Woodland; Matthew Hammett, R-Dozier and Chris Sells, R-Greenville — joined Democrats to vote against the bill.

After two hours of robust opposition, thousands of letters, and countless phone calls / meetings, unfortunately SB 71 passed. How did your House Rep vote?

I really hope this idiotic bill doesn't make it out of the house. A perfect example of what is wrong with the entire system. Guy puts up a bill, written by the lobbying group who donated to his campaign, and it happens all the way to Congress and with both parties.

SB 71 will be on the House Floor for a vote on TUESDAY. Keep calling, keep emailing, keep sharing. Please tell our legislators that the most important thing they can do to protect Alabama's water quality this session is to vote NO on SB 71: alabamarivers.salsalabs.org/sb71-hb162/ind…
