Massive breakthrough for Sam Blaskowski 🇺🇸 over 100m at the Music City Track Carnival in Nashville, storming to a huge PB of 9.89s (1.5)!
The former Division III star has gone from NCAA D3 standout to the second-fastest man in the world this season.
He won ahead of Cameron Crump 🇺🇸, who ran 9.99s, while Brandon Hicklin 🇺🇸 finished 3rd in 10.05s.

Texas firmly believes it missed the CFP last year because it played and lost to Ohio State in Week 1, completely glossing over an inexcusably bad loss to 4-8 Florida later in the year, so I'm not surprised the UT administration is mulling over whether or not to play Notre Dame.

@HorsemenPod @flioxan Also what are the “‘natural rotation years” for Stanford? They should exist but AFAIK they haven’t formally adjusted the rotation to include Stanford, Cal, and SMU (this SMU game is a one-off)

@flioxan @AlanGoonspan Nobody knows for sure. It was supposed to count in natural rotation years but then they did the Clemson deal and both ND and the ACC disagree on if it counts towards the 5.

I mean, Auburn and Virginia Tech could be really good by then. Hard to project SOS a full season in advance.
I suspect the last game will be against a big name, though. If it’s a road game against a typical CFP contender, the schedule could be quite good.

Notre Dame announces a two-year extension to the Stanford series. Irish head to Palo Alto on Thanksgiving weekend in 2027, with the Cardinal returning to South Bend on Oct. 14, 2028. Both sides were eager to get this done.

Some of the crunchiest people I know are full-in on the peptides train and it doesn't compute to me
Those "research peptides" are labeled that way because they can have heavy metals and endotoxins (and aren't even guaranteed to be the right peptide, dose, etc.)

Clemson is $1.5B in debt. Syracuse is closing or pausing 93 programs, UNC-Chapel Hill plans to cut spending by $89M over 3 years. Duke recently let 600 employees go in a $350M budget cut. Indiana public colleges announced a plan to eliminate or merge 580 programs statewide.

Homophobia is still REALLY bad. F word is basically eradicated in the rest of the country, but it still gets screamed at to players, coaches, and fans at every stadium in the deep south.
That’s the biggest adjustment for me

@bwwebber USC is primarily at fault here but ND needs to accommodate. No reason the following can’t work based on what’s publicly available:
2027: Week 2 neutral site (PHX, DEN, DFW, etc)
2028: Late Sept, Early-mid Oct game @ USC / Rose Bowl (due to olympics)
2029: Wk 2 or Wk 4 @ ND

Unfortunately, this colossal error probably can't be fixed until 2030 because of commitments in place. Lincoln Riley should be gone by then and hopefully replaced by someone who appreciates one of the most important rivalries in all of sports
